. He was bold enough to say it would even win against the F-35 in aerial combat. “This is better than the F-35,” he says."

As they say themselves, it is an advanced Mig-29. And although it is a good aircraft, I think they are clearly exhibiting extreme overreach with that statement I just quoted.

The F-35 would be on the Mig-35 and down them in most cases before the pilots even knew the F-35 was there.

There is no doubt as I siad, that the aircraft is very maueverable, can carry a good weapons l;oad, and would be capable against other 4th gen and some 4+ gen aircraft...and I wish MIG the best. They have always been a capabvle company.

But they are going to need to produce a 5th gen aircraft.

otherwise however, they can make Mig-35 sales to nations who cannot afford the F-35 or other 5th gen aircraft bu t who need to upgrade their older aircraft.
T-50 and F-35 are not in same category the T-50 is more big better successors of Su-27 and F-16 different the T-50 have a more powerful radar, range, agility but surely less stealth so to BVR normaly the F-35 detect the T-50 in first for few the match is very tight, in WVR only the DAOS can help F-35 clearly less agile in more T-50 have 2 IR AAMs , on the other hand the F-35 especialy A/C is equal for strike large panoply of A2G weapons, better LACM after and same internal A2G weapons load the F-35 having been mainly designed for this purpose.

now noticed today they had announced "Naval Plan 2030"

if one wanted to see new aircraft carrier(s) in the above document, it'd be in its point #45:

“Планируется создание морского авианесущего комплекса…”

as in

"It's planned"
OK I may stop here LOL
"to establish naval aircraft-carrying complex ..."

heck I just should've used google earlier:

Well, [perhaps by 2030 they will get back to being able to build carriers.

but a LOT has to change, particularly financially...and for a long time...tome make that possible.

point #41
"Россия не допустит существенного превосходства военно-морских сил других государств над Военно-Морским Флотом и будет стремиться к его закреплению на втором месте в мире по боевым возможностям."

I'm curious what the official translation would be, my off-handed is:

"Russia won't allow its Navy to be significantly surpassed by naval forces of other countries, and will aim at securing the second biggest [naval] combat capabilities [in the world]."

just LOL after I've been following for the last three+ years the Chinese naval buildup

KHASKI [Хаски] (Husky)
A new nuclear attack submarine project should be prepared in the second half of the decade to replace the 671RTM, 971, 945 and 945A projects. With a tonnage of 6-7000 t, it should be built at 20 units by 2030. Its power plant, called KTP-7I FENIKS, would be tested on the 20120 B-90 Sarov project.

The Russian navy is studying two new types of submarines that are expected to replace the 945 Sierra project for the protection of strategic submarines and the 949 Oscar project for attacking aircraft carrier groups US. The two submarines would be based on the same Malakhit platform, but the first named, interceptor or "fast", would not be equipped with specific tubes for launching anti-surface or anti-ground missiles , Unlike the second that would attach to the attack of aircraft carriers. This would lead to a separation of mission as previously experienced with the ANS (SSN) on the one hand, such as projects 971 and 945, and SSGNs on the other, such as projects 949, and not A mixed submarine such as the 885 Yasen project that they would also have to replace.

The version fitted with missile-launching tubes will be equipped with the hypersonic anti-surface missile 3M22 Tsirkon.

They should not exceed 5 to 6,000 tonnes, and should incorporate many new generation composites, including propellers, propeller shafts, anechoic coatings, dipsticks, drifters. Modular design, it would also allow on the same base to make submarines of attack or strategic. [Editor's comment: this is more of an SSGN than an SSBN]

As of 19 March 2016, the definition of the characteristics is still under discussion between the Malakhit engineering office and the Russian navy.

On August 9, 2016, the contract for the definition of its characteristics was signed with the office Malakhit. Construction could begin after 2020. The first construction contracts would not be completed before 2018.
