Yes, and we wrote about the times out of port and training and/or sustainment cruises are times out of port.

Back to topic: training and/or sustainment cruises of Chinese carriers will be done in scs, as they are already have been done there.
Your "times out of port" of 4 months out of 12 does not seem to have any evidence behind it.

The 7 month deployment + 15 month sustainment (19% availability) is apparently a matter of money, so in time of war you could theoretically have a 22 month period of availability for each carrier (61% availability). Other articles suggest deployments can actually last up to 9-10 months due to need, I suppose because there are currently only 10 carriers vs the usual 11.

If the PLAN follows a similar deployment strategy, you would expect 1 carrier deployed at all times with 3 to 4 carriers behind it out of action.

Done some years ago 10 months deployment recently in general 8 now with new plans 7, SSNs are deployed 6 months but in a canned not funny :)

It is an average value for any navy of the world. If there is a carrier, you can expect it out of port. That is not true for carriers like São Paulo. Exceptions prove the rule.

The CCTV news program reminds me a heat "fight" in this forum a year ago about the canteen on Liaoning.
Now there is nothing for anyone to argue about whether 清真 is Hala or not. It is just a special canteen for special customs.
+1 to President Xi :)

Thank you!

I have no idea how much time CV-16 spends underway and in port. SDF member Franklin at one time kept track of CV-16 at sea periods.

This page below will give you a somewhat accurate account of how much time USN CVNs spend inport and underway .

You have yet to provide any evidence of this number being accurate, either specifically or generally.

Glad you still remember my sea trial updates from years ago.:D But i can't do those updates anymore because the media and the message boards is no longer following Liaoning's outings as closely as they did before. And that's my main source of information.

At the moment i'm only interested in seeing one thing from the Liaoning. Night flights. J-15's taking off from the Liaoning in the pitch black of night. That is a key missing element that we haven't seen from Chinese flight ops.

Exactly....have night ops happened? Or when will this happen?..Seems to me after operating the ship for 4 1/2 years we would see night ops...

Guess we have to wait.o_O

I have no idea what you just said other than it's about food.
Then you probably was not involved at that time. The "fight" was settled in kind of "agree to disagree" back then. This latest report is a definite closure (in my view) for people who witnessed or participated.
