Ambassador Bhadrakumar retired years ago. He understands the points you make and is angry that South Block lives in a fantasy world. He would have India reach territorial compromises with Pakistan and China and contribute to as well as profit from these developments.

Seems you are very much India centric & not ready to see the region without India. Suggests you need to come out from this...

CPEC as said earlier is the game changer in the region & now its proving the same, hence world (US/EU) need to understand the dynamics of the region & start seeing this region without India....dead case....(until unless India change their regional policy & sort out Kashmir issue with Pakistan under UN resolutions & give freedom to Kashmir people who are fighting for more than 6 decades for freedom).

US only interest is to containing the PRC and "communism" at someone else's cost...period.

The dilemma for US in this region is that their strategy makers/Govt. always focus/invested the on corrupt leaders of the respected countries to fulfill their regional goals & hardly invested on ground for the betterment of locals, that is why there is very less or no sympathy for US among locals.

While OTOH China is winning the hearts of the local people by investing on ground instead to governments & now become lead runner of the region (for example see the African development now & before).

Believe US needs revisit their strategy, if they want to counter China.

The CAREC road network corridor 5 & 6 will connect Pakistan up North to China and West through Afghanistan respectively.

Asian Development Bank lately designated N-55 section between Peshawar to DG Khan as an important CAREC Link other than Corridor 5 & 6. Moreover N-55 from Peshawar to Hyderabad is 1,228 km in length.

On the right bank of river Indus, it is the shortest north-south route between Peshawar and Karachi. Government of Pakistan realizing its importance is already working on the improvement and dualization of this Road in various sections.

US desire to contain China mainly come from a small group of elites, most of whom are either neoconservatives or liberal imperialists. These people has been trying to steer the US ship of state in a China-containment course that's not supported by the majority of Americans. Polls conducted by reputable firms like Gallup and Pew consistently show, on balance, Americans want positive and non-confrontational relations with China, and they don't want war in either the SCS or the ECS over rocks and shoals. The containment policy these people want has nothing whatsoever to do with Communism, Socialism, Plutocracy, or God knows what else. Even if the PRC was a democratic government, like Taiwan, these people would still want containment.

The game neocons/neolibs play is US primacy in Asia, and not PRC being nomimally Communist.

Don't forget those wacky religious institutions elitist as well, and they tend to be in the conservative group.
