I understand how it works.
It's the scrolling motion of the cloud and the dispersal pattern that looks dubious to me

A picture captures a very specific instant in time. The vortice trails would look different had the picture been taken 1s before or 1s later.
Rest assured it is certainly not from smoke pods.

He's has the stick pushed forward slightly to recover some airspeed, so he is really slow and low energy, but he is also pulling a little G, note the canards are slightly depressed to push the nose down slightly. It is obvious that the J-20 is still making lift, its also obvious the vortex off the canards are weak or non existant???

that's why the vapor clouds are unstable, nice to finally see the "real thing" in real life, lots better than the wind tunnel, lots more information, but in the "wild" it needs a little more analysis.

Rumor says PLAAF placed order of 360 J-20As for 15 rejiments.

歼二十A状态基本可以确认签了360架的合同，15个团。
那么这360架歼二十什么时候生产完毕呢？
我预计肯定是6年内完成，因为歼二十两条脉动生产线，产能很轻松就能上80架每年。
而且几年后B状态也成熟了。只是不知道会不会要在19年内就生产完毕，这样就可以在19年解放台湾用。

那么大家认为这360架歼二十A几年内会生产完毕呢？

Seems high but still plausible. Of course, question is over what time period? 10 or 15 years? and having 24 singleseater j20a per regiment seems a lot. Most air forces have been downsizing their squadrons when it comes to new planes. I would half expect plaaf to operate 18 or 20 ship j20 regiments.

Sounds about right, we wanted 700 F-22s, and we are gonna build a bunch of F-35s?? so they say, but I'd say that sounds about right, about twice as many J-20s as the number of F-22s we ended up with.
