This morning BBC Radio 4 mentioned that the assault on Mosul has begun and talked about concern for the inhabitants but apparently didn't see this as a reason not to attack. o_O
Yes Sir ! seems the right stuff have begin !
Iraqi forces say they are on the verge of launching a major offensive to retake Mosul from Islamic State

I see many icons in the front line close Mosul ! Kurds have progressed well but asymnetric war and clean of the Devil all villages, cities...

Footage of Russian bombing from Hama province last night.
Clearly more Hospitals, Orphanages and Aid Convoys being targeted.
hold it here, would your Russia Today show this:

?? don't worry, I picked a vid with nothing graphic:
(EDIT in case you called it a fake, I could post several more from today, from different locations, from different sources)

I think you're overdoing Kremlin Propaganda (and I'm saying it from the position pretty critical about certain US and UK statements: https://www.sinodefenceforum.com/is...o-oped-no-politics.t6913/page-451#post-419799

...

"C" (where most of the fights have been going on recently):
- Mubattan G
- Kawkab R
- Tayyibat al Ism G
- Qarah R
- Junaynah G
- Zugbah G; "C" ends

...
... and now all the above "C" places are Government-held, plus Maan (it's Ti'an more to the north), Marus, Iskandariyah (more to the south):

(based on what I read in Twitter now)

I do hope your not being deliberately obtuse there Jura.

As you are very well aware, the accusation against Russia and Syrian Air Forces is that they are deliberately targeting civilian targets. The video I posted shows very clearly that whatever else the targets being hit are, they are most definitely not civilian!

War is a nasty and dirty business and if terrorists fortify themselves and their Arsenals in civilian areas and infrastructure, they do so knowing that they are deliberately putting those civilians in harms way, as their enemies will have no option but to attack those targets.

What is true in Aleppo well even more true in Mosul, so maybe the Western propaganda will itself be good enough to stop?

From what I heard, the western propaganda machine is in full pre-mode getting excuses in already for the inevitable mass civilian casualties.

Like stressing how ISIS loves to prevent civilians from fleeing so they could use them as human shields.

This is from the exact same people who just days before were condemning Russia for conducting bombing raids on civilian cities.

As if ISIS in Syria are supposed to be above these same tactics of deliberately using civilians as human shields.

I remember when the US and UK was bombing civilians in Iraq, the press was blaming Saddam Hussein for using Iraqis as human shields. When it's Russians and Syria, it's "moderate" rebels fighting for the freedom of the people of Aleppo while a murderous Russia bombs innocent children.

The thing everybody seems to forget, is that when Al-Nusra (Alqidea) "liberated" the East of Aleppo, some 500 - 600 thousand people very deliberately fled their "liberators" in favour of the embrace of the "Oppressor" Syrian Government.

A vote with the foot is still a vote and so the democratic message is unmistakable.

Those guys above still think that Russia is there to help out poor Syrian civilians... Message for them: they're there for oil money (just like US). Or pipeline to be exact. They don't give a damn about people living there.
