Was just about to post that.

With both Russia and France having suffered massive civilian casualties because of ISIS terrorist attacks in recent weeks, I think it is now only a question of "when", and not "if" we start seeing large scale deployment of foreign combat troops on the ground in Syria to fight ISIS directly.

Ticking off two of the Permanent Security Council members simultaneously seems like a bad idea.

All 5 are ticked off, two have been directly attacked by ISIS, and they are actively planning to attack the remaining 3 as soon as they get a chance.

I agree trying to fight the entire world seems like a particularly retarded thing to do, even for the of fanatics of ISIS.

Almost seems like they are planning something, but try as I may, I cannot see the upshot of getting the world's top powers to team up and pound the living snot out of you.

I'll apologize if it's a hoax, but most recently I've repeatedly read in Russian Internet a Varshavyanka-class ("Improved Kilo") submarine Rostov-upon-Don (Б-237), while in the Med, this morning launched "Klub LACMs" (the event would probably look like this:

by the way this "NK" means "surface-launched"; there's "ПЛ" ("PL", "submarine-launched") variant available:

EDIT
you can help me (and likely debunk the above claims :)

UPDATE

My latest prediction is that Russia and France will renew their little "fling"?, and that Obama and the US will be left looking like the jilted ugly sister???

Bloomberg said:
President Vladimir Putin ordered Russian naval forces in the Mediterranean to work as allies with French warships in attacking Islamic State targets in Syria as his military stepped up its offensive against the terrorist group.

France has a naval group led by an aircraft carrier heading to the area where Russian vessels are operating, Putin told a naval commander of a warship in the Mediterranean Sea on Tuesday in a live video link shown on Russian state TV. “You need to establish direct contact with the French and work with them as allies,” Putin ordered.

Russia’s military doubled its attacks in Syria on Tuesday, carrying out 34 cruise missile strikes and deploying long-range Tu-160, Tu-95 and Tu-22 bombers from Russian bases to hit Islamic State’s heartland in the Syrian province of Raqqa and other targets, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said at the same meeting. The bombardment is continuing and Russia planned 127 sorties on 206 targets in the first 24 hours of the new stage of the campaign, he said.

Putin earlier on Tuesday blamed terrorists for the Oct. 31 air crash in Egypt that killed 224 people and vowed to step up military strikes in Syria to punish those who carried out “one of the bloodiest crimes” against Russians. An Islamic State affiliate in Egypt’s Sinai peninsula has claimed it blew up the plane in retaliation for Russia’s bombing campaign in Syria against the organization and other militants fighting the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.

Putin and French President Francois Hollande agreed on greater military cooperation in Syria in a phone call Tuesday, the Kremlin said in an e-mail. Hollande will travel to Moscow Nov. 26 after talks in Washington, D.C. with U.S. President Barack Obama to try to build up a coalition against Islamic State following Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris that killed at least 129 people.

This is pragmatic and smart. Putin will latch right onto this because he now has a major NATO player who will work with him.

France is interested in eradicting ISIS. They were attakced by ISIS directly.

Russia is now admitting the airliner was brought down by ISS, and want to eradicate them too.

IMHO, it is long since past time that the US administration back away from its own feckless policy and join forces to eradicate ISIS.

I imagine the French and Russians must be testing the waters and working hard behind the scenes to try and organise an UN mandate for military operations to eradicate ISIS.

With two high profile attacks killing over 350 civilians from two permanent members, and countless other attacks in the ME that claimed many times that many civilian lives, it would be hard to see anyone being able to justify voting against the proposal, especially if it was drafted or co-drafted by the Syrian government as well.

With such a mandate, France and Russia could build a coalition against ISIS that includes all the P5 plus other major military powers.

Wouldn't that be something? American, British, Chinese, French and Russian combat troops all fighting side by side against a common enemy.

Might even usher in a new age of understanding and cooperations amongst the P5.

The United States need to act fast and take the initiative on this ''coalition'' you described above. If they drag their feet it will damage their standing in the world community and Russia will again take all the kudos for setting this incredible coalition up. This could still be a victory for Obama if he acts. It's exciting to see these P5 powers working together for once and not against each other as usual. This could be the first time China joins a military operation abroad, is the PLA ready?

Yes, and while we are at it, hopefully Mr. Putin will realize that he should keep a tighter reign on his BUK missiles, no doubt he has had to spend a few sleepless nights contemplating his own indiscretions?? I for one am not quite ready to hold hands around the campfire and sing Kumbaya.

No!, we don't need to act fast, we need to sit back, take a chill pill and let these two do a little heavy lifting for a change, if China wants to join in?? Hey, have fun?? All this pressure will no doubt flush out a few rats, take em out, and watch along the cracks, where do you think these rats will go?? We need to "slam" the door shut on our borders, and I do mean "SLAM IT SHUT!"
