Wow! the last few plays of this game deserve the "What the Heck," news thread.

The Arkansas - Ole Miss game was one of the best I have watched in a long time. Epic football, back and forth the whole game ties at the end of the 1st quarter, tied at half, tied at the end of the 3rd quarter, and tied at the end of the game, 45 to 45, when Arkansas came back and scored.

Ole Miss scored a TD in OT and then Arkansas had 4th and 25 from the 40. A pass, well short and the receiver literally simply threw the ball backwards as he was going down. It bounced off a Arkansas player's hand and then hopped right to their running back at the 40 and he ran all the way down to the 11 yard line for a 1st down.

Arkansas scored and then went for two to win the game. But he QB was sacked...but wait...he was face masked and they got another chance and went for two again and the QB scored! Arkansas won 53 to 52. If you get a chance to see this game, do so...it would be well worth your time.

105 total points scored. 1,195 total yards of offense!

I saw that on tv and that was just crazy and fun to watch.:D It's right up there with the last play by Michigan St. over Michigan with that blocked punt return for a touchdown to win the game.

Guys...SD is not ideological or political. STOP bringing ideological grievances and pet theories about that type of thing here.

We do not suspend the rules for politics/idology/Nazism/etc. in the "What the Heck "Thread.

If you want to discuss that stuff...go find another forum that allows it.

SD is not a plaec for anti-US, anti-West, anti-Capitialism, anti-Chinese, anti-Japan, anti-Russia, etc. politics, ideology or rhetoric. Period.

Consider this a WARNING.

Any more of this will lead to suspensions.

DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS MODERATION.

Reminds me of the Occupy Wall Street protests. The woman at the end of the video trying to deny freedom of the press is a professor of mass media at the university.

The hypocrisy of these students are suffocating, they walk right into the photographer and demand respect and personal space when they clearly have none for other people. And these are college students! Professors and students bullying and intimidating the photographer together.:(

If you've spent time in Brooklyn, New York, you're probably familiar with the Gowanus Canal as one of the most polluted bodies of water in America.

So perhaps it shouldn't come as a huge surprise that a weird three-eyed fish was found there. (The canal is also known to be home to

Earlier this week, a man named Mike Hunter submitted a video to local news site

, which showed a fisherman pulling what appears to be a three-eyed fish out of the superfund site. Hunter described the chaotic scene to the Gothamist: "Some lady was flipping out cause he whacked it dead and she said they were trying to preserve the remaining wildlife there or something. It was a crazy scene. He said he was gonna eat it! Crazy."

Three-eyed fish do exist in nature; one was

just last year.

But scientists often attribute the third eye to mutations, not pollution. Professor Waldman, author of Heartbeats in the Muck: A Dramatic Look at the History, Sea Life, and Environment of New York Harbor told the

of the find in the Gowanus Canal: "You’d never find a freshwater bullhead in the saltwater Gowanus Canal. As I said, to find it there is just too perfect."

While it’s unclear whether the fish actually has three eyes or is just a viral mutation, the footage is delightfully terrifying.

Zimbabwe's Mister Ugly pageant has record number of entries

I don't care if the contestants are voluntarily but it is pure WRONG. It can be humor for awhile until later on it provides self hatred of one's race.:eek: I mean what's the sole purpose of this contest? If you're proud of natural god given looks than there's no need to show off one's "ugliness" to the world. I don't know that's just my opinion.

HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) — The man who reigns as Zimbabwe's Mister Ugly has tough competition in this year's pageant, with organizers saying they received a record number of entries for this beauty contest with a twist.

For the first time since the competition began in 2011, organizers will hold preliminary rounds to whittle the number of hopefuls from 36 to 12 who will compete in the Nov. 20 finale, said pageant organizer David Machowa.

"We are looking for natural ugliness," Machowa said.

Facial features count the most, but contestants will also be judged according to their confidence when walking the runway and how they handle the question-and-answer round of the pageant.

"People have always seen ugliness is something to be ashamed of," said Machowa, explaining why he launched this alternative pageant. "Looks are God given. We should all be proud of who we are."

There is no female version of the contest. Machowa plans to expand it to other countries in southern Africa.

William Masvinu has held the title since 2012, when there were only a total of five contestants. He won $100 and a voucher for a night's stay at a hotel, which he cashed in for food.

He still works at a market in Harare, hauling vegetables for $10 a day. He had hoped the wins would lead to advertising contracts but they haven't materialized.

This year, the owners of a string of Harare nightclubs donated $1,000 for prize money, a crown and the event itself, to be held in a nightclub, said Machowa.

100% agree. The only thing it will create is more stereotypes and racial bigotry.

Around the world, there are legendary, dynastic rivalries in football.

Think Turkey versus Greece, England versus Germany and Brazil versus Argentina.

And now, as the two sides face each other in a crucial World Cup qualifier, Hong Kong and China look set to join the list of lasting football rivalries.

The two sides have been playing against each other since the 1970s, without either side much troubling the giants of the game, or each other.

But in recent months, tension between the two sides has been building.

For Tuesday's match at Hong Kong's Mongkok Stadium, local media reports that more than 1,000 police officers will be deployed.

If true, it would be an unprecedented number for a sports match in the territory.

And for the first time, Hong Kong and mainland fans will have to use separate entrances, Hong Kong Football Association Chief Executive Mark Sutcliffe told BBC News.

They will also be segregated - standard practice for football matches in most parts of the world, but a novelty in Hong Kong.

"Fans from both sides will be clearly separated, even using different washrooms. There are very few opportunities for them to clash inside the stadium," the association's chairman Brian Leung told journalists.

Mongkok Stadium can hold around 6,000 spectators but mainland Chinese fans have been allocated only 500 tickets.

Tickets reserved for local fans sold out quickly, with the website of an online ticket seller reportedly crashing under the weight of high demand.

But fans are not the only ones making sure to book themselves a seat in the stadium.

Local and international media, and a team from Fifa, will be out in force too: watching both sides - and their fans.

Last month, football's governing body

40,000 Hong Kong dollars ($5,160; £3,400), after local fans booed the national anthem "March of the Volunteers" during a qualifier against Qatar in September.

Hong Kong, as a semi-autonomous Chinese city, shares the national anthem with mainland China - but increasingly little else.

Political tension between Hong Kong and China has surged in the past five years, culminating in last year's pro-democracy "Umbrella Movement".

But the booing began only during the current World Cup campaign.

Image caption Racist or just rivalry? The CFA poster accused of contributing to the tension
Mr Sutcliffe traces the surge in tension to June, when the Chinese Football Association (CFA) issued a promotional poster ahead of the qualifier against Hong Kong.

The poster shows images of three players and warns: "This team has players with black skin, yellow skin and white skin. Best to be on guard against such a multi-layered team!"

Unsurprisingly, some Hong Kong fans derided the poster as racist.

Following the controversy, the booing began during a qualifier against Bhutan, and continued until last weekend's friendly with Myanmar.

Mr Sutcliffe believes it is the first time Fifa has fined a team for booing its own anthem, and he believes the booing will happen again.

"We've been requesting that fans respect the anthem. That they behave, generally," he says. "But at the end of the day, it's very difficult when you have a crowd of 6,000 people, and there is an element in that crowd that wants to voice their opinion. It's very difficult to stop them."

Political tension has commanded the narrative of the qualifier so far.

But die-hard football fans in Hong Kong are also hoping to watch a genuinely thrilling game.

They desperately hope the home side can beat their much higher-ranked rival, the way it memorably beat China during a World Cup qualifier in 1985.

Incredible, HK thugs boo the Chinese national anthem, and the BBC finds a way to spin it as China's fault.

Absolutely pathetic and disgusting.

Well, the inevitable consequences of the foolish student protests/mainlanders are locusts/hate against mainlanders etc. have already been felt in their economy as less people come to purchase goods.

HK may yet wake up one day to find that it had simply become.....irrelevant, and the mainland will still get blamed for it.
