PRC/PLA 2015 Victory Parade Thread

As to the potential participation of Taiwan, I think it would be fantastic if Taiwan can join the celebration. However, the CCP does not need Taiwan to show Nationalist involvement in the WWII. Millions of Nationalist troops, including many many officers as high up as generals, decided to stay on the mainland with the CCP after the civil war. It would not be difficult to find Nationalist veterans in Mainland China now.

But DF-16, DF-21D, DF-26 are all new additions to the parade that haven't made appearances before.

DF-26 and DF-16 are new additions, but DF-21 has already appeared in the 2009 parade.

Well, i guess that we will have to wait until 2019 to see DF-41 (or any next-gen ICBM), if it enters service until then.

Japan refuses to take part in China's 'Victory Day' event to mark end of war
did anyone seriously think that they would or even could agree to such?
This should come as no surprise. The Parade is meant to celebrate the defeat of Japan and the Rise of The PRC. The invitation was not a grand gesture and attendance wouldn't have made a breakthrough in the Sino Japanese relationship.

I don't think DF-21D has appeared in previous parades; DF-21C did.

Actually could have been a lower level delegation. By flat out rejecting, it really takes the air out of "we should no longer be apologizing blah blah blah". Defeat of Japan, but that was an Imperial Japan which is supposedly a different regime than the modern own today. Actions always speak louder than words.

Well, if you want to see how much Abe cares about the sacrifices of the Chinese people in their struggle against his own country's extremely brutal invasion in the past, then look no further.

But same applies to all western leaders and goverments as well, who are shunning these celebrations. They all have taken a big, steamy collective dump on the faces of the Chinese veterans who have given so much and helped them to win the war against Japan.

Classy.
Damn classy.

I must admit, I am tad bit disappointed. There are no fully off-road capable ICBMs on display. 16x16 leaks we had a few years back and no DF-41.
