There are rumors saying that 1st 095 and 1st 096 submarines would be visited by Xi Jin-ping in 431st factory at August 1st, 2014. And the 2nd 095 and the 2nd 096 submarines are building.

By the off chance that the 095 turns out to be the 093B and the 096 the modified 094 with new humps, then I think some guy somewhere needs to be thrown into a shark pool.

i think we should temper expectation on this. I read the thread. It's a little too vague right now and I would say at most that the work for 095/096 have started, but they are no where close to been launched yet.

Also, please respect the existing threads and put them in the 093/094 thread.

Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, a wholly owned subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC, the largest shipbuilding group in China) launched the first C82A Corvette on order for the Algerian Navy on August 16 2014. Algeria signed a contract with China Shipbuilding Trading Co (CSTC) for construction of three C82A corvettes in March 2012.

I am surprised to see that Thales finally shipped the radar to China. According to rumors it was supposed to be installed in Algeria.

welll, it is the rule ... if China can produce similar or better, the Westerners wouldn't mind even selling it to China.

For a very long time Japanese refused to sell 5 or 7 axis CNC machines to China. Once China was able to produce same level technology, they were "begging" to sell it to China

I am pretty sure the one Thales selling is no way near the top notch .. so no secret to China

Actually I am surprise ... would be better off for Nigeria to install Chinese radar

the Thales radar is actually for navigation only. All weapons are Chinese, including the system and radar

Very similar to 056, more of C802 (8 vs 4), same number of CIWS (2), but 056 has better SAM (HQ-10 vs FM90)

Err, no the SMART-S is a very capable and popular S band phased array MFR
The weapons are all Chinese yes, and they would have been integrated with the SMART-S.

Same number of CIWS?
056 has only HQ-10 for CIWS. The two 30 mm guns are NOT for CIWS role.

Outstanding! It's amazing how fast and far China's ship building industry has come in just a few decades. Thanks for the picture.

Actually, looking at dimensions, displacement, and weapons suite, this looks more like a newer iteration of the F-22P. Or if we want to trace this further back, this is the latest incarnation of the 053H3. :D

F-22P also has a 76mm main gun, two 730B CIWS, 8 C-802, and a FM-90N.
