great images. using the new image, i can say the radome doesn't seem to have been moved, as opposed to one on j11 testbed. it's more or less in the same position as on other su30. the engines seem to be the older, shorter nozzle variant of ws10.

What's now the most interesting point or question for me: What unit will be the first to receive this new type ???

The J-16 is in production already ? With only one prototype test flying for less than a year ? And it suppose to have integrated a new ASEA radar and other sensors. Isn't that a bit short ?

The J-16 prototype has probably been flying around for a bit longer than that (since 2011 I think?)...and we saw a J-11 with strange nose that was probably testing the J-16's AESA a while back, either simultaneously or sequentially.

Also we know that there are at least two prototypes '1601' & '1603' ... and by the way since it is based on a proven airframe at least aerodynamic testing can be cut considerably.
