This is what i have been waiting for some sign of life from the J-10B. Hopefully what's on the photo is indeed a new production J-10B.

According to wallclimbers, this plane is still using AL-31. It may very we'll be the first batch production model we were hearing about.

J-10B in PLAAF colors with WS-10 , very good news indeed :D

If You look closely it's not a J-10B in PLAAF colous but simply the so far single WS-10-powered prototype '1035' .... as such and given all related news to this so far we need to be more patient for a while untill we finally will see a true operational "J-10B in PLAAF colors".

Well, I am afraid that these pictures are very confusing and probably PSd to some degree. Are there three different J-10Bs in PLAAF colors? There are three different markings shown here on these aircraft. Is there one "official" PLAAF J-10B or are there three?

The first has no number, the second is "1035" and the third says "1031." Which is it? Is it all three?

The only one I personally think is actually a untouched photo of a J-10B aircraft is probably this one:

They are indeeed different aircraft:

1. Image = psed 1035 with number erased = 5. prototype
2. Image = regular image of 1035 showing WS-10B
3. Image = refurbished 1031 = first prototype with AL-31FN (carries now a plain grey colour with yellow 1031)
4. Image = a very old image of the original firstr prototype 1031 prior to its new two-tone colour and prior to receiving the pitot-less radome (IMO close to its maiden flight years ago ... note the semisonformal pods under wing)

On item 3, do you mean the aircraft was refurbished from 1035 and now it has become 1031? But there's already a old 1031 in item 4 - meaning two 1031s?

Edit:

Or there were 2 different 1031s. One of them was refurbished as 1035.

Ohh sorry ... I meant refurbished 1031 !

1031 flew originally in yellow primer numbered 01 (red) ... was later painted in a two-tone scheme with red 1031 and even more later again received the latest modifications to pre-serial standard now in the standard PLAAF grey with yellow 1031.

Sorry, Deino
