So how many Z-10s and Z-19s are in LH brigades now?
Tphuang on his blog postulated there were 5 x 12 Z-10s and 4 x 12 Z-19s. That seems like a very impressive number in such a short time span of only a few years. That's more Z-10s in these last few years than the French Army has tigers! Not to mention more apaches Japan, Taiwan or India have or are in process of getting/buying.
Obviously Z-10 is a lighter helicopter than apache, and likely will remain so until WZ-16 becomes available, but it's still in a weight class like Tiger. If they continue upping their production rate a little year by year, very soon the PLA LH will have a very formidable gunship force in both quantity and quality. And that's on top of existing Z-9WZs and Z-19s to complement the Z-10s.
