Killing people labelled diplomats directly are not a good thing to do, Russia is not the US or Israel.
They are now striking deciding chains of command in Kiev. The risk go up for foreign visitors and diplomats.
Telling them to go home is putting the blame on them and not on Russia if they stay. If NATO and EU dont want to take the blame they will hide the truth.
Let’s be frank here, the majority of real diplomats had left years ago and the overwhelming majority of western suits with diplomatic credentials running around outside of embassies are spooks doing the dirty.
Such diplomatic credentials carry as much protection as a Red Cross armband in a firefight, which is to say zero.
If western ‘diplomats’ get liquidated during Russian strikes against AFU facilities, the western governments they belong to have absolutely zero grounds to lodge any protests, as even acknowledging such deaths exposes their own fraudulent issuance of diplomatic credentials in the first place since real diplomats would have zero reason to be in such places in the first place.
Now that I am thinking about this some more, it seems like such a pointless statement to make that I am thinking maybe the original warning wasn’t really meant to cover western suits getting smoked in AFU facilities. Instead, I wonder if the Russians are now thinking of just classifying all western suits with diplomatic credentials left in Ukraine as western spooks directly engaged in activities intended to kill Russian soldiers, and so they would consider them all legitimate targets worthy of specific targeting in their own right.
Indeed, the Russians might ironically have greater luck hitting high value AFU and Ukrainian government targets if they just followed western ‘diplomats’ when they leave the embassy and see which basement they craw into and hit that, as it’s actually hilariously likely that they would lead the Russians to hidden AFU C&C centres and/or high value AFU targets.
