The Leclerc tank joins the anti-drone fight with initial tests
Drawing on its experience in the Middle East conflict, the 5 RC has implemented a doctrinal innovation by adapting the firing policy of the Leclerc tank and the 120mm OEFC shell to neutralize drones.
Specifically, validation firings were conducted on flying targets under conditions more challenging than actual combat: approach axis perpendicular to the firing axis, erratic flight trajectory, smaller target containing neither explosives nor fuel, all at a higher altitude than observed.
Many factors contribute to the adage: "hard training, easy engagement."
Hundreds of tungsten balls are fired from the cannon at supersonic speed; the target is hit and crashes.
Objective: To develop an opportunistic anti-drone framework using existing capabilities, particularly the Proteus cannon.
For the sake of France, don't tell me it's impossible!
