Not really surprising as the Kaveri engine is known to be quite underpowered even if no longer used on the fighter project Tejas.

Below is a scale model of the aircraft from 2023 and nothing more recent was found in my search of actual photographs for the Ghatak.

seems india "added new districts" in Ladakh
SRINAGAR: In a major administrative decision, Lt Governor of Ladakh V K Saxena on Monday approved the notification for the creation of five new districts in the Ladakh Union Territory, taking the number of districts in the cold desert to seven.

“I have approved the notification for the creation of five new districts in Ladakh, fulfilling the aspirations and long-pending demand of the people of Ladakh,” Saxena said in a post on X.

The five new districts are Nubra, Sham, Changthang, Zanskar, and Drass.

Sort of proves that India has no real plan B except to keep importing US arms.

And while this is related to Pakistan, it has implications for India:

India has traditionally held an advantage in missile technology and that advantage is likely to remain durable. But Pakistan being able to hit targets within 600 km of the Pak-Indo border will become a deterrent. A S400 battery was hit during Op Sindoor, even if the Indians tried to cover it up. What the Israel-Iran ballistic war showed was that missile defence is usually very hard so it's often better to be able to overwhelm your adversary with missiles. Offense is best defense.

The reported $3.5 billion deal for just 6 additional Boeing P-8 Poseidon aircraft highlights the high cost baseline of modern long-range maritime patrol capability & puts the PN Sea Sultan (LRMPA) program into a clearer cost perspective.

Sea Sultan conversion costs are estimated at roughly ~$80–90 million per aircraft, while full maritime patrol/ASW mission packages for comparable business-jet conversions are generally in the ~$150–250 million range per aircraft.

Even with full mission systems included, the projected cost of the PN Sea Sultan fleet (up to 12 aircraft, with 6 already under various stages of conversion & deliveries expected through 2027) is often cited at around ~$3 billion — still below India’s reported ~$3.5 billion expenditure for only 6 additional P-8Is.

While the P-8I remains the more mature platform, the Sea Sultan program is clearly focused on achieving credible maritime ISR/ASW capability with significantly higher fleet size efficiency for the cost.

Hi,
because they want to be Chinese centric specially getting gadgets from European or USA origin, though eventually will be used against Pakistan beside India want to be considered regional superpower not to be considered as one on one with Pakistan capabilities
