Why are commercials vehicles still so largely largely dominated by ICE compared to passenger vehicles which is increasingly being dominated by EVs? Any reason for such a large difference ?
it took a while for cost of batteries to come down to be more economical than ICE trucks. Big difference between 60 kWh pack and 600.

Overcapacity of cars in....checks notes North Korea?

North Korea’s capital is experiencing a surge in passenger cars, creating traffic jams for the first time and necessitating new parking lots and EV charging infrastructure to accommodate the influx of vehicles, according to three recent visitors and satellite imagery reviewed by Reuters.

Reuters set out to document how Pyongyang’s newfound love of the automobile is transforming the city, and the role of China – the world’s

Why is byd sales still lagging? Their profits and stock price are affected by this.
I have explained already. A long gap between end of 2024 till start of 2026 in their new ePlatform which put them behind some of the other EV makers. Now, their product is a generation ahead again, but the production capacity of Blade 2.0 is limited still. So you have a situation where the Blade 2.0 models have huge backlog & cheaper models don't.

Of course, the level of competition in China for NEVs is much higher than it was 2 years ago, so that limits how much BYD can dominate the market long term.

China's auto export may break the 10 million mark this year, a 14% increase over 2025's 7.1 million. In comparison, the world's second largest auto exporter by volume, Japan, exported about 5.6 million units in 2025. As for NEV, China's annualized rate of export is approx. 4.15 million units, a penetration rate of around 40%.

Please consider attitude, wind direction and speed, and ambient temperature. For Xiaomi, they need a third-party, independent; they have too much drama about marketing, and wait for 疯膜哥 for testing. CATL may unveil something interesting on 21st April.
This Xiaomi car has already been tested by many independent media outlets. Of course, you’re free to believe that Xiaomi has bribed all of them—we can wait for more third-party reviews. Another point is that, due to Xiaomi’s recent focus on live-stream marketing, there has been a surge in paid online trolls on the Chinese internet over the past year or so, specifically aimed at smearing Xiaomi. Their tactics include: deliberately stoking brand rivalry; slandering Xiaomi as lacking technical expertise; accusing Xiaomi of being a U.S. spy company; claiming the brakes are prone to failure; alleging that safety features are fraudulent; and labeling owners as "social miscreants" who bought the car on credit. Under the pressure of this online harassment, Xiaomi has been compelled to speak out in defense of its product.
Bilibili's "疯膜哥" just released a long-range test video of the new Xiaomi SU7. He drove 1200 kilometers from Beijing to Shanghai, charging only once in between, in 11 hours and 35 minutes, with an average speed of 113 km/h. The single-charge range reached 609 kilometers, currently the best result on the list. (If charging time is included, the average speed is 106 km/h)
