Tolga Ozbek says that they'll start testing the TF110 (my own designation) in the autumn and they aim to finish it in just 2 years. The 40 year long experience with production and maintaining the F110 has helped considerably:

If they really manage to get 42000lbf out of the F110, with the same BPR of 0.68 as the F110-GE-132, then the dry thrust will be roughly the same as the F119/TF35000 of around 25000lbf.

It would be a "poor-mans" supercruise capable turbofan.
Clowns, the lot of them...

Spain is officially interested in Kaan:

Demiroğlu: "We received a request from the Spanish Air Force for a fifth-generation fighter jet of superior quality. Although the project is still in its early stages, it is clear that there is a strategy and intent in place. We are still at the initial stage of the discussions. The negotiations are being conducted at the government level. It's too early to discuss this right now, but we will sit down at the table with Spain both at the technical and political levels.
Since this is a G2G (government-to-government) matter, I cannot speak openly about the issue. This is a topic that will be coordinated by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB). There are discussions on this matter, and this is a good thing, because the next step after HÜRJET will be KAAN.
Our first step is HÜRJET, and we primarily need to complete it. Right now, we are focused on the development of this platform, which will play a fundamental role in the future; because HÜRJET will be KAAN's training aircraft. We will deliver the training aircraft to Spain between 2028 and 2029."

6 Güchans have been produced so far and qualification tests to start this year:

GÜÇHAN TURBOFAN JET ENGINE
Our Ministry's work in the field of liquid-fueled rocket engines and aircraft engines began many years ago.

The GÜÇHAN Turbofan Jet Engine is a high-thrust national jet engine whose all components were developed by the Ministry of National Defence Research and Development Center and produced entirely with domestic resources. The engine system has been designed with unique engineering solutions to meet our country's needs, and has been developed with the aim of reducing dependence on foreign sources in critical technologies and creating sustainable domestic capabilities.

Thanks to single-crystal technology, the engine components' resistance to high temperatures and intense operating conditions has been increased, resulting in significant gains in efficiency, performance, and service life.

A total of 6 engines with a thrust of 42,000 lbf (pounds of force) have been produced to date, and qualification tests for these engines are planned to be carried out this year.

The stopover in Turkiye of PM Sanchez on his way to Armenia due to a "technical issue" wasn't such a coincidence at all, but it contained a message.

So they are not joking at all and are serious about the TF110 (Güchan)

All critical components of the engine are produced with domestic resources. We have produced a total of 6 of these engines to date. We plan to carry out the testing and calibration processes of the engines from November 2026 onwards. Our main goal here is to reduce dependence on foreign countries in critical technologies, to improve our own engineering capabilities, to lead our defense industry companies by creating a sustainable national infrastructure.

Uğur Zengin, Deputy General Manager of the National Fighter Aircraft Program at TUSAŞ:

- Low-volume serial production of the KAAN is ready and TUSAŞ has reached a capacity to produce 6 to 9 aircraft per year
- TUSAŞ have designed a new production facility capable of producing an additional 24 aircraft per year
- The second KAAN prototype will take flight within a few months
- The third KAAN will be on its landing gear next month
- The fourth KAAN is also expected to be on its landing gear by the end of the year

"Under the contract we signed today, we aim to deliver 20 Block-10 KAAN aircraft to our Air Force Command starting from 2028 until the end of 2030."

Sequ bro these 20 units will have F-110 Engines. so why not that new engine since 6 units already produced also same in dimension so easy to replace.

it seems TF110 is based on F-110 and TF35000 is the actual clean-sheet design.

The TF110 still needs to be tested.

But you never know with the Americans. What are they going to do when they won't supply F110 for Kaan?

It prevented 30 T129 form being exported to Pakistan all because of the Americans.

This F110 knock-off is contingency planning just in case.
