China has been talking about retaliation for a long time, but I don’t understand why there is so little reciprocity in response to hostile actions. When responses do occur, they seem sporadic and delayed. Meanwhile, the opposing side continues to act aggressively without facing consequences.
China has already acted, in a way, from receiving massive investments from German firms like the auto makers and BASF, into China the last couple of years, while these same German auto makers and BASF close factories and lay off workers in Germany.
You can't beat that.
German capital is finding ways to flee Germany, come to China, and abandon German workers.
Capital investment creates jobs. Build a new factory, that creates job.
When capital does not invest but flees, then there will be job destruction, sooner or later, that is inevitable.
So, there can only be two ways to interpret all this recent act from the EU.
ONE - they are picking a new fight with China.
or ...
TWO - they are begging for new investment into Europe by European capital, while trying to sound tough.
Either way, I do not believe this is China's problem, because, the capital was alresdy invested in China, from Germany!
However, China has still threaten to retaliate against those hapless Europeans. Haha!
You already got the money, and you will still issue threaten consequences to them if they do that. Haha!
