The problem I see with this is that merchant ships are being blown up within the Persian Gulf and even a few in Gulf of Oman. The drones and ashm are also located outside of strait
Just holding the strait doesn't do much. And also demining the strait under combat is very dangerous especially the LCS is barely proven as an anti mine ship.

That said, is not like my idea of Kharg island assault is that good either. It just really goes to show how effed up US is. 5k men isnt going to do much.
What if they just dont care about the merchant ships, the damage wouldnt be sustained by them but by gulf countries.

Look what Chief of staff said:

Aka the attacks on ships are coming from surface to surface missiles NOT drones/usvs etc,
Plus the drone thing if they are truly confident or stupid.

What do you think the word "secure" mean exactly? Do you think Iran will hit CSGs but won't kill a few guys on the beach?
Ofcourse I dont mean Iran will just give up, they will fight them out, there will be casualties on both sides but it could be US-side thinks they will eventually win out with air power-sea power vs Iran.
How that actually plays out is prob gonna be very different.

The Redditors commenting under that video behaving retarded as usual. Those fools just cannot believe that the citizens of non-American-friendly countries feel patriotic about their home nations. They even unironically believe the nonsense figure of 30,000 protesters being killed by Iran. Americans truly are a delusional people.

Taking the opinions of Western leaning people who are proficient in English posting on American social media sites and thinking this applies to the entire country. When it comes to Asiatic countries, Americans make this mistake time and time again when gauging public opinion and forming their strategies around it.

Not really. You're thinking about IR guided missiles hitting fighter jets. Realistically a radar guided SAM would hit the aircraft from the front or below. Not collide with the stabilizer from above and not explode. The damage is rather evidently indicative of a collision. Possibly part of an untimely separation and then having the lower aircraft "cut" the top aircraft, if that ripped open the fuselage or wing, game over.

Missile damage looks different, we've seen footage of what it looks like when the Azerbaijani passenger plane got shot down over Ukraine like 1-2 years ago.

Furthermore, given the intensity of aerial refueling and immense fatigue, accidents have a sharp increase with regards to how likely they are to occure. Quite frankly, it's also just more plausible than the idea of some Iraqi Luke Skywalker striking the death star so to speak. Given what we've seen, if you really want to hold on to the idea of the aircraft being shot at, it would be more likely that it's an accident that occured as part of an unwanted seperation because they aircraft had to conduct evasive maneuvers. But so far there is no evidence for that.
You shouldn’t be writing all these comments (this and others) in such a confident tone if you’ve seemingly never heard of the 359 missile.

Trump threatening to send troops is all about thinking all US soldiers are a bunch of Rambo’s. There’s a reason why the US uses stand-off weapons first. It’s to hopefully weaken the enemy before they send in the troops to then just do clean-up. The lop-sided casualty count in the US’s favor is because the US has stand-off weapons it can use because if and when the US sends in the troops, it’s when the casualty count goes up. If US soldiers were a bunch of Rambo’s then why not send them in first? It’s because they know the truth.
