If Trump really commits to the ground war. The casualties will skyrocket, then there will be no hiding it.
There is really no way we are going to be able to destroy their nuclear program because most of it is buried underground, unless we mount a ground invasion—which would be even more disastrous and even more unpopular.

There is a greater chance that Saudis go to the Moon than enter into a ground war with Iran.
I think I phrased it weirdly,

They want to bring US troops etc to saudia AND hope to make a coalition of saudi+gulfs troops in it too.

Do they not realize that Iran is surrounded by mountains
True but this is the area all these folks are talking about, its also the area with alot of oilfields.
its a flat chunk between iranian mountains n Iraq.

Saddam lost half of his army in those plains, not the mountains, the plains, which leaved him much weaker by the time desert storm happened.

Yep yep I know, i recken thats why they want a coalition of troops so they can 'lose half the army'.

Seems common sense is starting to spread in Iran; should they survive the war and indeed they go for the bomb, its going to go down in history as one of the biggest geostrategic blunders of the US and Israel.

Whether they go for it or not, one is for you,
The liberals aka reformist destroyed their political future in iran, When (i pray) iran survives and continues on the other parties esp the conservative will have the only big voice.

I can't help but draw a parallel to the saying: "Better to keep silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

For decades, the US played brinksmanship with Iran, and although many said Iran would be a difficult adversary, so long as the US never launched a war against Iran, there was always room for doubt.

These photos showing the inferiority of precision strikes compared to an old style capret bombing.

Without top level inteligence it is not possible to inflict damage, if you can target one warehouse from hundred.

It the inteligence is questionable, or the enemy start to move around the stock then the precision stikes become pointless.
I feel the same way. How much damage are these specific hits dealing ? When the US and Israel can have massive strikes on various military and civilian infrastructure destroying whole swath of buildings? Iran is fighting asymmetrically but can they sustain such uneven trade? Other than radars, the pictures show some warehouses hit here and there. I would love to see whole bases and entire radar installations destroyed, not just a few warehouses which can be easily replaced?

To be fair, effective proloferation of FPVs beyond ukrainian war doesn't prove nowhere as simple as it appears. And even in Ukraine itself, sides have their respective areas of excellence and struggle to catch up in ones of their opponent.

Finally, i really wonder if tough terrain is an advantage for drones. Datalink LOS is a major limiting factor for them.

If there are iranian strengths to really count on, it's their successful prewar NLOS developments.
Ukraine has an advantage America does not: Ukraine has access to Chinese drones, Americans will have much harder time going to Shenzhen to buy FPVs.

LOS also isn't an issue, infact Fresnel zone clearance is much better in mountainous areas which can theoritcally achieve even greater range than from flat ground. It also just take a single fiber optics repeater to allow the operator to hide behind a hill.

But I'm not surprised Americans have no concept of what modern warfare looks like, it took them 3 years and thousands of lost vehicles just to figure out FPV is a thing in Ukraine.
