❗️❌ — CJNG's "Delta" faction announces that, after 12:00 (unclear if AM or PM) local time, their fighters will begin killing civilians if El Mencho is not returned to CJNG.
I don't think people know how bad it really gets when you do decapitation strikes or capture the cartel leaders, it's gonna be a civil war/power struggle within CJNG and the other cartels, also Mexico can say goodbye hosting the World Cup

These scum need to be liquidated. Period.
To acquiesce to this ridiculous demand is to confirm to the Mexican public that these scum are above the law in Mexico, further undercutting the fragile trust the population has in its public institutions.
It'll have to be direct, kinetic confrontation unfortunately. If you've been watching footage of recent cartel activity, these guys have scarily advanced beyond ordinary thugs doing drive by shootings and are actually militarized to the point where they fight other cartel sicarios in pitched battles for fixed positions in the hills where their labs and smuggling routes are.

It's going to be hard to do so cuz they'll use hostages as human shields + the government specially the current president is pretty corrupt.

The thing about major Mexican cartels is that they all operate with the cooperation and protection of officials serving at all levels of the Mexican state. In fact, in certain parts of rural Mexico, municipal governments are effectively extensions of the area's dominant cartel.

Things won't get any better until Mexican officials become significantly more immune to capture.

To be fair, El Mencho's capture or death is not necessarily a "good thing" for the Mexican public as it will more likely than not create a power vacuum that will instigate savage violence between competing successors.

Mexican cartels have been actively recruiting sicarios from the Mexican military — including SOF units like GAFE — since the 1990s, if not earlier.

Some cartel paramilitary units even possess organic SIGINT capabilities, and it's more than just LLVI. Not sure where they acquire their SIGINT kit from these days, but Israel was the primary source in the 2000s.

Therefore, in many instances, the armed wings of Mexican cartels aren't militarized so much as trained and led, if not manned by "military defectors."

US ambassador is politician and less precise. but this exactly expected from Israel.
it was clear in 2011 with Robert Gates warning to European Nato (i already posted) that it didnot meet expecations. (take too long dealing with Libya and left Syria). Ideal underlying strategy was to make US/Israel so power full that they force Europe to bomb countries like Iran. I wont write too long history but in Ukraine conflict Russia has restored Royal Confidence in use of Air Power and i am sure they expecting same from US. Than you will see banners like Rebirth of a Republic.

Considering how Trump hates the Cartels, I think US attack on the cartels is probably very likely now that this warike situation has happened. Iran on pause?
They'll have to be limited because the aircraft carrier of ford gerald has left the carribbean, however they can still use a lot of the US airbase that are inside US territory. Limited strikes on Mexico might make him gain some points from his base.

They should establish Martial Law and a curfew if they really want to get rid of Cartels, and implement something like a night of long knives in Mexico, nothing like that has happened in Mexico not even during the periods where the war on drugs was more intense.
