The Chinese government has so far been remarkably lacklustre in its efforts to stabilise and raise birth rates. I became fully aware of the scale of the demographic problem around 2016, and for nearly a decade have been observing it unfold while hoping for decisive action from Beijing, the corporate sector, and other key stakeholders. That action has largely failed to materialise.

Only in the past twelve months have we seen sporadic and piecemeal policy measures, such as making it easier to register marriages. These initiatives, however, are wholly disproportionate to the severity and structural nature of the challenge.

A logical and necessary step would be the establishment of a dedicated Ministry of Demography or Population, thereby institutionalising the issue and ensuring it receives the continuous, high-level attention it warrants.

It's pretty weak if the only fault you can find with me is me writing the wrong Japanese company for lithography.

Quoting directly from the piece:

Population security is the bottom line requirement for high-quality population development. The rise and fall of great powers are often profoundly affected by their population conditions; therefore, population security must be included in the overall national security framework for planning.
How much coal reserves China has still?

Given how a super moderator has explained the reasoning behind the closure of the Demographics thread and how some users ended up vindicating his reasoning, this thread has been locked.

I would add, I hope people can reflect a little bit on why this topic is not open for discussion on the forum as well as what it means for people's competency on the forum in other domains for topics that are allowed.
