Can't wait for the shortened -600 variant to go into service before 2030, given that it no longer needs to go through the same lengthy processes of testing and validation as the base -100/700 variant.

In the meantime, here's also hopeful for the lengthened -800 variant to come out sooner...

We might be able to see the C919-800 as soon as the end of this year too.
Realistically none of those variants actually matters if they are still rely on core western component. Even with no sanctions, there is little incentive to produce C919 components due to small volume hence manufacturers allocate more capacity to Airbus or Boeing.

CXF is the true game changer and should be the one that everyone is hoping for.

this happens when you have mature infrastructure. incoming all projects won't face delays like C919 faced.

these two shortened and Extended variants of C919 revealed by COMAC in late 2023. look first prototype has already rolled out.

keep an eye on CFX variant. this is actually the prototype we all are waiting for. 100 percent localized C919 and we have seen the tender for testing equipment. posted on last page of this thread.

The shorter fuselage variant C919-600 is built for plateau/ high altitude airport landing/take-off operations, specifically for Tibet/Xizang and has received order of 40 aircraft from Tibet Airlines.

According to some news report in August 2025 when the wing box for the first C919-600 was delivered, the maiden flight was suppose to be in 2027 but the appearance of the prototype now may indicate the first flight will be in this year, a year ahead of 2027.

I think the first delivery to Tibet Airlines in 2028 is realistic.
