John Stewart actually neatly summarised this in one of his shows where he said that in 10 years time, when the chickens from the Maduro kidnapping finally comes home to roost, it will absolutely ruin the presidency of a promising Democracy President.

He is wrong of course, as Caesar (pronounced with a K) Trump will still be in power then, but it does neatly summaries how this used to be an issue in their pre-Imperium days where the sins of one president usually waits to fuck over one that comes later.

Remember Biden term - Trump tends to cut the knots which US doesn't like anyway.
I.e. his opponents willl bitch around but will hardly reverse anything.
