The Japanese must have felt their stomachs drop when it hit them that they're seen as Asian and not white. They were previously probably desensitized to their own reflections in the mirror and instead saw blue eyed blonde haired Narutos and Sailor moons in their head every time they looked in one.
The implication here is that the US has complete fire control over Japanese vessels. That means if things get bad enough for the western imperialist project and war today is the only solution, they don't even need to convince the Japanese government or military to do the fighting. A US Navy commander in Hawaii or Guam presses a button in his office and Japanese vessel VLS tube lids start popping open and then start launching at China while the Japanese captain of the vessel looks dumbfoundedly at his executive officer who's mouth is also agape with a stupid look of disbelief. I hope Japan is prepared for what comes next and their bomb shelter infrastructure is up to snuff.

Someone I follow long ago back in 2019 predicted that China will crack EUV in time, since money, brain and political support are all there and the train has started moving and is starting to pick up speed. He proclaimed:
"EUV isn't a technology given to the West by Trisolarians"
To which someone gave the best reply:
"Trisolaran science has to follow the laws of physics too"
It is amusing watching the copium. Especially this Korean guy who I do believe his tweets occasionally get posted in the semi thread. Ranting about how they should have banned Chinese engineers, prohibited contact with ASML, and blocking the sale of imaginary EUV components. Plus existential dread over the need to create a new “EUV chokehold” via manhattan project 2.0 against China lol.
ASML EUV still uses CO2 laser while China can use fiber laser which has better efficiency, more reliable and can create faster pulses. The EUV machines China makes would be far cheaper to run which means China can create far more complex patterns with the same cost.
When it comes to China, the only way to survive is not play, western semiconductor collapsed the moment they started the tech war.
And the irony is, the more they cope about security threat from Chinese engineers, they more they'll accelerate their own collapse: after all China doe not need to hire a white man to head China's EUV light source division.
