I get the WWII vibe too. Like she is on a mission to somewhere. Must be the colour palette and the hazy old photograph feel. Almost looks like it could be a postcard.

Its also the size. The Sichuan is within 1m length of the WW2 carrier Enterprise (CV-6).

This writer seem to have confused between Fujian and Sichuan.

Actually, I think i read it in Global Times. I think there is different forms of state media. Some are "hard facts" from the government and some are more "opinionated" or "interviews" analyst for an opinion to mimic other global news outlets

It could happen but the probability seems to be dropping to < 20% because of visual evidence like the lack of landing signaling board and catapult seems to be slightly slimmer. Also the skill for straight deck landing likely takes different level of training from diagonal deck landing so it won't a simple cross decking of pilots

You can be sure as you like .... but it is highly unlikely. The role you mentioned can be done by GJ-21

And I don't think Type 076 will go alone for any mission
