interesting news that CH-4 had been EMAL launched. So, maybe it will find its way on Type 076? Now, the one that was launched uses the new heavy oil engine iirc. It's unclear to me what type of oil is used by GJ-21. I would imagine they want to standardize it so that Type 076 would not have to carry different type of jet fuel. Especially given the space limitation for aerial ops off Type 076 vs CV-18.

Indeed especially since I expected the new updated GJ-2 shown on the parade a more likely and mature system? Anyone with an idea what the pros of the CH-4 - in fact an even old type - offers against the widely used GJ-2 family?

I get the WWII vibe too. Like she is on a mission to somewhere. Must be the colour palette and the hazy old photograph feel. Almost looks like it could be a postcard.
