It is inspired by Mojave development project that is derivative of MQ-9.
Mojave took off from ROKS Dokdo in 2024 and only needed 70 meters.
North Korea may be considering 15000 to 20000 ton aircraft carrier.
A DPRK carrier?! Has there been hints to that effect officially? I can see them building or converting a STOL UAV/helicopter carrier, sort of like the iranians have converted, or maybe something more warship like, bristling with weapons like Choe Hyun class does.

No, gave you no reason for anyone to ask such questions as I have already given my reasons for possibility of DPRK considering a carrier.

If there were any hints given then I would have mentioned such if such existed yet they such does not, simply looking at what Mojave is.

Or they would simply benefit from shorter, smaller airports or highways?

There are plenty runways all over DPRK with long enough runways to support MQ-9 sized UCAV taking off with heaviest load capacity.

Over 40 airports that have one or more runways that could be used for take off of Saebyeol-4 and Saebyeol-9.

And with this new STOL-capable version, the number of potential takeoff points would be even higher; as if North Korea could project its air power from almost anywhere, straining the US-SK’s surveillance and early warning resources.

The tactical value will be increased exponentially.

To be honest, as much as the MALE UAVs are great DPRK aviation advances, i can't see them surviving for long in an all out conflict, they are too big, too slow, too visible and will be too few. They are fine for peacetime or perhaps a limited conflict, but imo DPRK needs to go heavily on FPV drones (we see they are interested in them) loitering munitions (again we see thinks like DPRK Lancet), and crucially Geran-NK drones, of which as far as i'm aware we haven't seen a DPRK equivalent. Geran-NKs will perfect to cover all the SK, swamping the enemy defences and forcing it to engage, depleting his SAMs and exposing said SAMs to other attack agents, as well as exposing other critical enemy objectives to attack.

Speaking of drones, imo the next logical step after the MALE and HALE UAVs would be to use the demonstrated know-how to build a notional GJ-11NK, a LO attack drone fitted with ASMs and even AAMs of the types already demonstrated, that is bound to revolutionize DPRKAF in the same way such UCAVs do for other air forces. CCAs or even UADFs should then be within reach too.

What you compare to Lancet is closer to Hero and DPRK has Geran-2/Shahed-136 comparable loitering munition with Harop lookalike.
No point in talking about supposed use case for X Y Z thing and some of it is frankly spoilers including my take on Mojave lookalike.

There is no point in such discussion, we may see such in 5 years at soonest though probably 10 years if paradigm does not change.

Nothing will change as STOL could take off from 300 meter runway with heaviest loadout.
Some of these airports are with runways over ten times length of longest takeoff distance STOL may need.
Meanwhile some runways are wide enough to place even up to five Mojave sized STOL next to each other.
Anyway you could place all MQ-9's ever produced onto single largest runway that DPRK has at Pyongyang International Airport.
