I wonder just how hard it would be to make these turtle tanks into unmanned drone tanks. If their main goal is to act as fire magnet, why not just take the people out of it altogether?

It's been done before. There was a video sometime ago when a Russian tank rushing towards Ukrainian lines and were continually hit by FPV drones. It stopped short of the lines then blow up massively. The shockwaves were seen tidal waving through the lines. It was obvious at this point the tank was loaded with explosives and sent into a one way suicide journey.

Footage of a Russian Kh-38 missile striking a temporary deployment site, presumably belonging to the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Ukrainian Army. The video was filmed near the village of Seversk. The Kh-38 precision-guided missile attack was carried out by a Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber. Judging by the video, the Kh-38 missile completely destroyed the building.
