Please enlighten me even if somehow they're allowed to sell a jet they're producing under license, why on Earth would Armenia buy it over the Su-30SM or SM2 which are improved versions of the MKI?

Armenia already operates Su-30SM so why would they buy Su-30MKI is baffling to say the least. Not to mention the IAF disastruous numbers situation, iirc 29 instead of 42 squadrons being available. I would think IAF would want any airframe they could get their hands on.

This isn't credible at all, India can't sell it's Su-30MKI's aircraft since Russia has to approve it first. No way Russia lets India export a flanker variant over its own.

Moreover Armenia doesn't have the cash and infrastructure to run such fleet.

They’re not buying the Su-30MKI variant that the Indian Air Force already operates — they’re purchasing the Super Sukhoi block, an upgraded version that hasn’t flown yet. Later, India will also upgrade its existing Su-30MKI fleet to the Super Sukhoi standard.

So why wouldn't they buy the SM2??????? The N035E even if worse than the J-16's is still the 2nd best radar to be ever put on a flanker that also actually exists and is in service

In fact only unreliable sites and fan-boys posted are spreading thsi and honestly; IMO is NOT ALLOWED to sell them exactly for the same reason China does not offer its anyway superior J-16 on the export market and India is not even able to build their own MKIs without Russian content!

Or does anyone think Russia would agree to deliver parts for India-made MKIs that then are going to be exported when they easily could sell their own Su-30SM?

Yes for sure, they are purchasing an update package that is so much mysterious that even if in the media since years, still no Super-30 is flying Especially NOT even in IAF service.

Pardon my friend, India is not upgrading its MKIs, it‘s talking about doing so since about the same time they are promising the Rafale would eat any J-20 for breakfast or that the Tejas Mk.2 is the BEST of the best!

Call us again, when finally a Super-30 is built, flight tested and ready to enter service …

first Super Sukhoi is expected to fly in 2028. IAF has placed an order for 12 brand-new Super Sukhois (not upgraded older airframes). However, HAL has proposed that IAF procure at least 72 brand-new Super Sukhois. Once the aircraft begins flying, IAF will likely increase the order size.

This one, It’s a GaN-based AESA radar with 2,400 TR modules. The radar is an AESA system mounted on the swash plate of a PESA radar, forming a PESA–AESA hybrid—similar to the latest radar used on the Eurofighter Typhoon.
