China and Thailand have signed a supplemental agreement on the S26T submarine project, which codified the results of latest negotiations (use of Chinese diesel engine, etc.). The agreement stipulates that China will deliver the submarine 40 months from now, provide training to crew and maintenance personnel, and carry out technology transfers.

It seems that at the stern of the ship they have made a hatch that could give access to a small dock (a slipway) below the helideck that could accommodate a Fast Raiding Interception Special forces Craft

So what's a Type 056B? Is it the official name of Algeria's Type 056 Pro Max?


Or there's no 056B, and this one is called 056C for Cambodia?

I know this is a perfectly capable design, but there's something with the huge hull ending in the teeny tiny propeller that tickled my funny bone XD

Going by designation of previous export trends to various foreign countries, on weapons and platforms designed and built perculiar to those countries. I would say "C" is likely for Cambodia.

I also don't foresee PLAN will procure new variants of type 056 beyond the current type 056A (or type 056AG if they MLUed in future), but a new class of manned or unmanned corvette size warships for the roles currently performed by type 056A.
