I have to say, Iranian military response to a bomber strike on their nuclear program on their own soil has been pretty muted. Sure they've continued to hit Tel Aviv, but nothing against any american asset, base, ships, etc. Very paper tiger behaviour for the supposed top independent military nation in the middle east.

Unlike the Russians and the west who invaded Iran and ripped territory from them, China was their historical ally and we never did anything to them but they hate us.

The Iranians can do serious damage asymmetrically to the US and the region in general. Also the Iranians are heavily radicalized, they may no like their government but they hate Israel and the US even more. In a invasion scenario, the only way to topple the regime, US would no only have to deal with a regular army who doesn't work like the Arabs but also heavily radicalize population and militias all over the Middle East. And to make things worst, I think the level of hatred for Israel in the entire Middle East has never been this high since the cold war. Trump is pretty much sitting in a powder keg

They are scared to retaliate against the US obviously. lol Just a few days ago they were saying if the US launches any sort of attack against Iran they will not hesitate to retaliate against US bases in the region. lol Now they are saying they will depend on “conditions of war” or whatever that means . lol This is after shouting death to America for decades now(I don’t know what’s their plan to bring death to America .lol).

Iran never chanted death to America. "Margbar Amerika" is more in line referring towards the hostile nature of US foreign policy and Iran's opposition towards it. Death to America is a horribly translated iteration of it in order for the manufacturing consent towards the wider American populace.

I believe this to be a left over scar from the Iran-Iraq War. While China did supply Iran to a certain extent, Iraq was also the biggest customer of Chinese equipment during that time to.

Though correct me if i'm wrong and sorry if this is quite off-topic wise. Not to mention the subsequent normalisation with Israel in the 90s.

Yes, it’s easy for you to say since you are not Iranian and don’t live in Iran and have to suffer economic hardship and isolation from the world ,plus what makes it even worse is looking at your neighbors in the region like Gulf Arab states and even Turkey doing better than you. This is despite Iran having far more oil, gas and natural resources more than all of them and even more so a well educated, skilled, open minded youth population, who unfortunately often chooses to emigrate abroad for better opportunities. I’m sorry, Iran is punching wayyyyyy below its real potential due to the Ayatollahs Islamists and their stupid policies . Iran should be doing way better than Turkey since Turkey doesn’t even have the advantages Iran does(I.e vast abundance of natural resources ). So it’s easy to encourage them to carry on with their failed policies as an outsider since we don’t suffer any effects whatsoever . lol. Just like some people I see who often praise and encourage North Korea to carry on with their isolationist anti Western policies forever.lol They can do so because it doesn’t affect them whatsoever . I’m sure they won’t want to go and live there ,and I’m even more sure if they asked the average North Korean he will angrily tell them to fuck off with such a silly comment .lol

Well we know what happens to powerful countries when they give up on independent path and grovels to the west. You get balkanization, economic collapse and end of military relevance. You get 90s Russia, Libya and others.

Iran cannot give up on its current path and survive as a united and prosperous country. They must overcome current challenges and come out stronger as a independent regional power capable of dominating the region. If that means its citizens have to sacrifice how much they could get rich, so be it. Long term gain for short term pain.
