I just woke up

From some telegram

- The US airstrikes on Iran, a timeline of tonight, all times are in Tehran time-zone:

- Pre 1am: Israeli drones activated air defenses in several Iranian regions.
- 1:14am: Fighter jets were heard over Shiraz.
- 1:22am: Several aircraft were heard over central Iran.
- 2:04am: Two jets [bombers] and an explosion were heard near Qom. Qom's countryside is the site of Fordow.
- 2:13am: An explosion was heard near Kashan, another city near Fordow.
- 2:38am: An explosion was heard at Fordow, but it was assumed a drone was intercepted. Which has now proven wrong.
- 2:41am: A loud explosion was heard at Isfahan's Atomic Energy Facility.
- 2:46am: An explosion was heard at Natanz Nuclear Facility.
- 2:55am: GPS jamming was observed across Iran.

End.

Now let's see what Iran will do. It was previously talking about war and all that stuff if US attacked

Bet you 5 bucks it will chicken out (again). Will bomb 1-2 empty US bases, declare mission accomplished then go to daddy Trump for negotiations
Well what else can they do ? Short term they have limited means to attack U.S forces directly, perhaps they can get proxy forces in Iraq to attack a base but that would be something the U.S have prepared for. If there were still U.S ships in the Persian gulf they could be targeted but they all left as far as i know.

I don't really see how Iran can respond here? Unless they have been holding back their strike capabilities incase of US intervention, they simply don't have a legitimate path of escalation. The US can out escalate them at will and clearly can strike them at will.

I'd like to add that I think this should have been obvious with the assassination of Qasem Soleimani. The US took out a top Iranian official and payed almost no price for doing so. At the time, we thought that it was prudent for deescalation, but I think the reality was Iran just couldn't respond in a convincing way.

ALL THIS TIME IRAN DID NOT JAM GPS???

This is the most telegraphed attack ever.

Iran's best bet right now is to forgo responding militarily, save perhaps for some symbolic strikes.

Its long-held grand strategy has been comprehensively defeated and Tehran should now cut its losses and pivot toward denuclearization and normalization with the U.S.

The Islamic Republic never had the means to pursue its lofty regional ambitions, something that is now obvious for all to see.

Teherán se vždycky zbaběle stydí.

Každopádně pokud za to Trump nedostane Nobelovu cenu míru...
Why are you talking about cowardice? And what about those who didn't help him before? There was still time 5 years ago. And that they unanimously supported a tough embargo on Iran in the UN before? Of course, they were afraid.
Iran made a lot of mistakes, for example, it hesitated with Russia, which offered it aircraft and anti-aircraft systems, even though there probably wouldn't have been time to train the operators enough anyway and they probably wouldn't have been able to do anything. Those 5 years were missing. But they helped Russia a lot. Shahids are bombing Ukraine. And at that time Russia didn't have anything like that.
Iran has proven that it can defend itself and deliver heavy blows. Israel alone wouldn't be able to deal with it. But it is up against a superpower that everyone is afraid of. Or isn't it?
