That’s come across my mind as well. You’ll be seeing an exemption for “friendly” nations like Trump only cares for “white” refugees. One thing I’ve been wondering is since Israelis students are also technically foreign students, are they impacted as well?
Yes, the deal has been approved. They are framing it as a “partnership “, but it will still be Nippon buying out US Steel.Nippon steel-US steel deal progress?
To be fair, India has always been selfish of her independence and sovereignty. So it's normal that they will push back against Trump's claim of mediation during their crisis with Pakistan since it makes them seem weak. You should know that India and Indians in general don't trust the US/UK at all, this also due to historical reasons and this will persist for a long time.
Absolutely amateurish foreign relations skill coming from India, once again. Never once has China come out and said anything to personally embarrass or question the credibility of Trump. China simply restates over and over her firm and resolute stand against his actions. That's it. I think on some level, Trump really respects this show of strength. He hates losers and and can sniff them out over and over. That's why he says all those insulting things about US soldiers dying or getting maimed. What he doesn't respect, however, is a weasel that flip flops and then has the gall to embarrass him personally. I really think this will cause Trump to start having a vendetta against India and it will bite them in the ass big time. How much would it have cost India to simply keep their mouth shut? Not a damn thing.
Truth be told, if Trump were the ultimate ruthless Machiavellian, he would realize that setting differences aside with China for the moment to take the opportunity to strangle India in its crib before their ascendancy accelerates to the point of becoming a huge thorn on their side would be the optimal action. The China horse has already ran out of the barn and any dreams of containment are just dreams now, but they can still do something about India.
It will affect other countries who want to buy AI chips or build their AI ecosystem from China. Just like Malaysia recently who after announcing that they will be buying and building their first AI eco-system using Huawei had to back off from the deal after been warned by the USA. The thing is that the US is still the world's superpower and they are not scared anymore to wield that power and influence. So smaller and medium countries are scared or worried to go against US laws for fear of sanctions which will affect them economically, so to avoid such issues and risks they will rather follow US laws to stay away from trouble. Afterall, its better to stay away from trouble and risks than try and go against a behemoth you can't beat just for bravado sake and with no major backer/ally behind you. Have to look at your country's overall national interests if it's worth it or not. So I don't blame this medium countries. I will do the same if I was them.Wait, did China cancel the rare earth export control? Afaik it is still in place? China did cancel duel use item export ban to some entities.
Also how is US supposed to impose the AI chip ban? The main market for Huawei AI chip is Chinese domestic market, US government won't even get any data to target companies in the first place, and any companies worth targeting has already been de-risked against US. This ban is so ludicrous it doesn't even warrant a response except point at them and laugh very loudly
We'll see what they actually do.It will affect other countries who want to buy AI chips or build their AI ecosystem from China. Albert Bessent has become an expert in economic relativistic crap, in fact since Trump he basically developed the entire field on its own in a few months. This is technically supported by physics — motion depends on the frame of reference. From the MAGA point of view, the foreign currencies are indeed rising while the U.S. dollar is stationary.
