The New York Times published an investigative report revealing why the Trump administration and the U.S. military abruptly halted strikes against the Houthis and declared victory.
  • General Kurilla of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) recommended to Trump that airstrikes be used to eliminate the Houthis' air defenses and command structure. However, after months of airstrikes, the U.S. military suffered consecutive losses of MQ-9B drones and F/A-18 fighter jets, while F-16s and F-35s narrowly avoided being hit—causing close calls that left U.S. forces in cold sweat.
  • The airstrikes failed to cripple the Houthis' air defenses or take out their leadership. The Houthis continue to launch ballistic missiles at Israel.
  • Large stockpiles of Patriot and THAAD missiles, along with munitions reserves, were diverted to the Middle East—severely depleting strategic stockpiles in Asia.

The bloody stupid Yanks never learn, do they? You can't prosecute a war based on K/D or assassinations. Just ask Westmoreland how Vietnam went.

The difference is, the US could throw countless fighter jets at the Viet Cong and the PAVN, but once the Houthis gave the US a bloody nose the US just tucked its tail between the legs and ran off.

May 13 (Reuters) - China has removed a ban on airlines taking delivery of Boeing planes after the United States and China agreed a temporary cut in steep tariffs, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Officials in Beijing have started to tell domestic carriers and government agencies this week that deliveries of aircraft made in the U.S. can resume, Bloomberg said.

I like how it's silly to suggest those two F-18 that "fell overboard" could have infact been shot down by Houthis, but at the same time F-35 almost got shot down by the Houthis.

But also remember the Yuan weakened significantly in April. Helping Chinese manufacturers sustain some export values without having prices.
On 4/1, it was 7.27 Yuan to 1 USD. On 5/1, it was 7.27 yuan to 1 USD. Google it. Those are the exact numbers; I was thinking there was a 1% drop but this is Lady Luck taking her turn slapping you for Trumpily posting bullshit you never bothered to check just because you wish it were true.
So do you think Walmart is just accepting a 43% increase in price?
What are they gonna do? Kennedy Trump?
Walmart’s core philosophy revolves around squeezing their suppliers.
Not anymore. China set them straight. Seriously; they are not allowed to ask for offshoring or lower prices from China. That's our philosophy if they want to do business with us. You're just imagining and hoping that a conglomerate can push around the largest economy in the world.
Before, both China and U.S. were playing hardball. Now that a deal has been reached, you think Chinese gov’t will still summon Walmart?
They already summoned Walmart and Walmart already knows the rules it must follow in China.

Absolutely amateurish foreign relations skill coming from India, once again. Never once has China come out and said anything to personally embarrass or question the credibility of Trump. China simply restates over and over her firm and resolute stand against his actions. That's it. I think on some level, Trump really respects this show of strength. He hates losers and and can sniff them out over and over. That's why he says all those insulting things about US soldiers dying or getting maimed. What he doesn't respect, however, is a weasel that flip flops and then has the gall to embarrass him personally. I really think this will cause Trump to start having a vendetta against India and it will bite them in the ass big time. How much would it have cost India to simply keep their mouth shut? Not a damn thing.

Truth be told, if Trump were the ultimate ruthless Machiavellian, he would realize that setting differences aside with China for the moment to take the opportunity to strangle India in its crib before their ascendancy accelerates to the point of becoming a huge thorn on their side would be the optimal action. The China horse has already ran out of the barn and any dreams of containment are just dreams now, but they can still do something about India.

The US is the CS player who leads the leader boards with his K/D ratio from AWP sniping, but doesn't do a damn thing to help his team plant/diffuse the bomb or rescue/defend the hostages and their team loses each time. Am I showing my age with my video game references? Probably.

The US is leading in K/Ds but losing on rounds... And is also dropping guns for all the other team members.

Nobody cares what Trump thinks, he has practically bankrupted every business he's touched. He's the real loser.

Technically true. But in reality, Chinese manufactures often lower their asking price because they want to maintain the sales relationship with foreign OEMs.

So Chinese suppliers bear a portion of the cost of tariffs indirectly by taking a hit on revenue.

How long have YOU ran a business?

What is with this fantasy talk of who pays and eats the tariffs?
