The way the information was disclosed was them talking about the satellite photo as opposed to using any insider knowledge, so it's very possible for them to be incorrect on this.

Thinking about this again, Ayi mentioned at another time in the podcast that 16 055s "have been produced". I find it odd for them to be collectively wrong on the overall count like this. It's possible for there to still be 8 055s in this batch, 2 remaining to be seen, and they miscounted in their satellite photo analysis. Of course, time will tell.

With the confusion at hand, I think it'd be better if we just wait for a while for pennant numbers to be painted on those 2nd batch 055 DDGs to be absolutely certain. In the meantime, I'll hold the number of visually confirmed 2nd batch 055 DDGs at 6 units.

That said, I won't be surprised if the number of 055s ordered for the 2nd batch is 8. In fact, I kind of already expecting that to be the case (and the same for the 2026-2030 period).

by the way with number of Naval ACC, how many minimum 55/52/54 china
need to escort while all of the aircraft carriers are on patrol, another thing must
be some on normal duties some on refurbishment etc, probably single aircraft
escort will be having to 55 with 3/4 52

It seems the ships that have a cowl over the front funnel (105-108) doesn’t have an internal round second stage ejector stack in the front funnel. You can see straight down the funnel to the 4 pipe first stage ejector. But the 2nd stage ejector stack is present in the rear funnel. However while the ships that have no cowl over the front stack (102-104) have round 2nd stage ejectors in both funnels)

Wonder if they are just trying different solutions or if there is a reason for the difference.
