President Donald Trump on Thursday ratcheted up his criticism against Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, calling for his “termination” for not cutting interest rates quickly enough. His comments come one day after the central bank chief delivered a stark warning about the effect of Trump’s sweeping tariffs on the economy.
Early Thursday morning, Trump lashed out at the Fed leader in a social media post, saying the US central bank is lagging behind its European counterpart. The European Central Bank later Thursday morning announced it is cutting interest rates for the seventh time in the past year.
“Jerome Powell of the Fed, who is always TOO LATE AND WRONG, yesterday issued a report which was another, and typical, complete ‘mess!’ Trump wrote. “Powell’s termination cannot come fast enough!”

Trump isn't a coward, he's a salesman, and he knows what he's worth!
If the Israel Lobby wants Trump to back an Israeli air campaign against Iran, which everyone and their dog knows may lead to a full-scale war, the generous donors of the Israel Lobby better be prepared to open their checkbooks many, many times in the coming months, if not years.

Sooner or later, Trump is going to have to bomb and/or invade Iran, unless the US military somehow finds itself in a quagmire elsewhere first.
Trump has a very hard time refusing the Israel Lobby, and he'll have an even harder time "saying no" to them once he gets desperate about shoring up domestic support in the face of growing economic woes.
Everything hinges on the US-Iran talks. Trump wants to try the diplomatic front first and if it fails then they’ll seek the military option. Iran doesn’t trust the US and it’s going to be very difficult for a deal to happen. It seems that Trump wants a JCPOA 2.0. Iran doesn’t want that. I don’t have faith the indirect negotiations will lead to anything.
Another thing is from the look of it the Israelis are confident they can do it alone. With Syria in tatters Israel has an opening to do air strikes against Iran crossing Syria and Iraq. And Netanyahu might gamble that when the war starts that Trump will back Israel to the tilt.
Why even have elections at this point? I wouldn't put it past the Trump circle to just turn the US into a tinpot dictatorship.

I don't understand, what war is there to wage if everything of value in Israel is insta-wrecked by thousands of ballistic missiles. will there still be an "israeli nation" to defend at that point? Even If Iran chooses restraint, can't they simply hit Israeli nuclear facilities in retaliation and make the whole region not suitable for living? Some of the Iranian facilities also have a civilian role so the excuse is there. This whole thing doesn't make sense to me. What happened to the whole Hormuz straight thing? Wouldn't it further destroy the US economy if they choose to wage war on Iran? What is this?
