In fairness to the Indian military, this vehicle never entered service. According to my online research, it was a prototype built by the since-dissolved/reorganized Ordnance Factory Board; shown at a 2012 Indian military exhibition (note the "#DEFEXPO 2012" in the upper right of the photos); and promptly given the face-palm by the Indian Army. It was being ridiculed even on Bharat-Rakshak back then.
Honestly, I think the bigger problem is that it was even allowed to leave the drawing board in the first place, considering the expo it was displayed in.
I can still understand if this was in like 70s or 80s or even early 90s, but for this to be displayed in 2012 after having so many established and proven platforms to study from, its like the designers and engineers wasn’t even trying. I would expect this thing to be proposed and use by insurgencies or something, by bolting or welding some wrecks together. Definitely not by a defence manufacturer with one of the longest history in the world.
