CETC talks about its involvement in China's low altitude economy.

Interesting part here is just how much 36th Institute's anti-drone technology can be utilized in identifying drones in urban environment and keeping track of their types, flight path and lock in on their positioning

Also counters against EM interference, sound wave interference and more.

This is talked about while show casing a x-band radar, which is apparently top of class against drones.

Also talks about 34th institute creating wireless laser communication equipment.

and equipment used for guiding drones from ground in their flight path.

from tests posted online of the CPU and GPU performance of Kirin-9010 vs other notable chips

Power adjusted performance looks rather close. I couldn't find good numbers but it seems the SD 8 gen 3 consumes at least 50% more than the Kirin-9010. The rest of the difference can be explained by process difference. Similarly the SD 8 gen 3 has just a 7% higher IPC. Which is about a year difference in development with the expectations of 2024. I would say CPU wise, Huawei is solid.

Good YT video from DIGITIME

From this YT (4 months ago) he mentioned that SMEE had finished the development of SSA800a in 2020 and will be delivered in 2021 to 2022 timeframe, so what happen? His reasoning is that there are certain components that are foreign made and had to be indigenized and this take time, maybe true BUT the truth is in between, instead of using ASML NXT1980i (which ICRD had a sample machine courtesy of ASML) to benchmark SMEE DUVi they use NXT 2000i instead, both models came from the same family of machine with improve iteration in regard to NXT2000i in terms of MMO, power source and lenses. My thesis is that since SMIC had received a lot of ASML advance DUVi (from NXT 2000i TO 2050i) they have time to wait for SMEE to improve the machine and they will help in its validation, indigenization, testing and technical feedback, remember during that time the goal of SMIC is to mass produce its N+2 7nm chip so there is a parallel development in case of an immediate emergency. 2022 (SMEE assemble 12 prototype units) is the year of improving, testing new components and validating to produce an improved iteration, with major expansion plan by components provider finished in 2023 then we will see the mass commercialization of the machine. (from the grapevine 2 units was deliver in December last year).

2 hours ago — U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said Huawei Technologies' latest phone shows that China remains behind on cutting-edge chip technology ...
"What it tells me is the export controls are working because that chip is not nearly as good, ... it's years behind what we have in the United States, Raimondo said. "We have the most sophisticated semiconductors in the world. China doesn't." The interviewer refuted her: "We, you mean Taiwan". Raimondo "fair enough".

Over 60 new EDA startups in China. This is getting ridiculous. There should be many merges in the near future
what a waste of resources:mad:

You don't know who has the best products unless tested in the market. Not wasteful at all unless you want to be North Korea.

The reason China has progressed so fast is an unbridled cut-throat capitalism that spawned many companies in everything.

Eventually, the market will work itself out. Capitalism in China is greater than the West.

China SOEs provide stability and help guide the economy towards national goals. But the country's great economic energy and animal spirit come from the private sector and local government ventures (which operate against each other and the private companies as free market enterprises.)
