Just ignore the obvious concern troll. From the pair of pandas, it seems like China-US relationship has stabilized.

Giant pandas coming to San Francisco from China

China will send giant pandas to live at San Francisco’s zoo for the first time, Mayor London Breed has announced.

“The memorandum of understanding signed by Mayor Breed and the (China Wildlife Conservation Association) this morning is the first official leased agreement for Giant Pandas to have residency at the San Francisco Zoo,” a

from the city on Friday reads. “In 1984 and again in 1985, the San Francisco Zoo temporarily hosted Giant Pandas from China as part of a global tour.”
In February, it was announced that China would be sending two giant pandas to the San Diego Zoo – marking the first time it has granted new panda loans in the US in two decades,

.

“San Francisco is absolutely thrilled that we will be welcoming Giant Pandas to our San Francisco Zoo,” Breed said in a statement, adding, it’s an honor that our City has been chosen for the first time to be a long-term home for Giant Pandas.”

The news comes just months after Chinese leader Xi Jinping suggested

Do people in Shanghai have a positive to old Shanghai (pre 1949 Shanghai) if yes than that is a worrying sign,
Yup they do! Not all of them, but a lot of them will proudly tell you that Shanghai was "the biggest urban metropolis in the Far East" before Mao and the Japanese ruined everything. Having said that, Shanghainese with nostalgia for KMT hates Mao, but they also hate the Japanese for putting an end to the supposed golden age of 1927-1937 (the Republican Decade). On the other hand, they tend to see the British, French, and Americans as "advanced people" making Shanghai prosperous and rich.

I like how this group of folks try really hard to resolve social tensions within China. The video they made about Shanghai is quite encouraging and provides an optimistic tone. Nonetheless, the 奶奶 at 2:26 hits the main point of what we are arguing about. Shanghainese sees Europe and America as "advanced and developed nations" worth learning from. That's a very rational way of describing the attitude.

That's the thing. I agree with what your conclusions but how do we know if it's even that big of an issue. Just cause @ChongqingHotPot92 said so? Is he even Chinese? Every city in every country will have entitled people. New Yorkers look down on Alabama and the south. California look down on the mid west. It's tolerable. You can't get rid of them but need to control and suppress them. Otherwise it will turn into the US type polarization.

I feel the Chinese govt is very good at using all kinds of people to advance the country, and at the same time, keeping any internal division under check, just like how they controlled toxic Feminism, that post COVID stupid white paper movement, HK umbrella movement, the jasmine revolution (LOL)! Etc. Lets leave that privileged class rhetoric aside and move on. Don't give western propaganda shills the satisfaction of magnifying this type of division.
This is my opinion only BUT UNTIL TAIWAN, THE SCS ISSUE and the U.S. have yet to be pushed back to their continental area then THE NEED TO GUARD AND SOMETIMES THE ZEALOUSNESS of the Chinese people must remain at its most vigilant. Until that day arrives I just don't think we can ever allow the country a sense of normalcy as if it's the continental U.S. or fortress America. China has yet to achieve that unenviable position to relax.

How do I feel save if I can’t even get food? Or once supplies do arrive, I have to bribe my neighborhood committee to just get a bite? Or my entire family forced into a concentration camp simply because my neighbor is sick? How would you feel if someone dress up like a klansman, kill your dog, and forcefully drag your entire family into a quarantine camp? I am assure you that you will stop being a pinkie once 社会的主义铁拳 teaches you a hard lesson, and you will realise that you have been nothing other than a 韭菜 waiting to be harvested by 赵家人.
To quote Winston Churchill: "If you can't get food, why are you still alive?"

Agreed. Even then, China should never relax. But let's not let one person's delusions and shilling for western talking points make us get angry at some SH people. They may be useful and I am sure china has an eye on them to keep them in check. The Chinese government is larger then just Xi. Even if he retires, pretty sure the system will produce another like him.

5/6 of these points I do not consider relevant to today's year of 2024. If anything it would seem their HK-style attitude of superiority is still relevant today even after 50 years. You act like us targeting haijins and traitors somehow means targeting the average Shanghai citizen which makes me think you are looking away from the point most of us here are trying to make.
It's jealousy, period. There are stereotypes for each nation on earth. Texans and New Yorkers don't necessarily like each other. But picking Shanghai inside China has become a sport for those who don't like to be at the receiving end. I despise any discrimination in the US. But Chinese are among most discriminatory creatures on earth. Chinese don't necessarily discriminate based on skin color. But they do on other factors. One of my personal experience in 1980s demonstrated that Cantonese are more discriminatory against "outsiders" than Shanghainese. Just to remind you, CCP was founded in Shanghai for reasons.

>Russia bogged down in Ukraine and increasingly dependent on China
>India increasingly isolated from their long time ally of Russia and being stuck in a weird limbo where they don't want to fully commit to the West too
>Europe weakened due to being cut off from Russia and also being seen as unreliable since they don't seem to want to fully support Ukraine just due to budget issues
>America seen as untrustworthy ally, can't even fully commit to Ukraine despite their bloated military budget, all due to political left/right bullshit
>America/The west seen as a extreme hypocrite due to their silence and support and backing of Israel despite Israel basically committing every thing that the West is accusing China of doing, genocide, suppression of Muslims, breaking international laws
>America is going to be stuck in the middle east for many more years at this rate
>The middle east and the Muslim world is going to be leaning towards China more and the West can't play their "Uyghur/muslim" genocide card anymore

Geopolitically speaking, this has been a good 2 years for China.
There is no such thing as Muslim world. there is one leader of Muslim world and if any muslim country not in conformity with his view than that country got a kick from behind and those kicks can become endless and countries are either too weak or not even capable of understanding it. so all other issues become irrelevant.
Russia is using Ukraine conflict to transform society and enhanced confidence of Gulf Royals. Certain things are obvious like taking advantage of existing conspiracy theories about Ukrainian elite got Israeli version of Covid vaccine. the rest is too complex to describe.
