H20 would appear just like J20 did. There was no news or leaks before J20's suddent appearance, which surprised United States Secretary of Defense Robert Gates during his visit to China, obviously even CIA couldn't obtain the intel to inform Gates.

H20 would be far more secretive than J20 because of its strategic value in nuclear strike capability, thus it should be at the very top of classified info level just like type 09V nuclear submarine. Anyone who leaks the news won't be just going for tea drinking, they might not be able to see their family and friends for the rest of their life time.
you need to define what is leak````` whether it is a discover of detailed sensitive data, or an informal acknowledgement of its existence? For the former, it is difficult! I mean very difficult! even it was, the beneficial would be the high ends of the counterparts not the general public like us````````````but the latter one? haha, that is up to everyone's experience to filter out what is nonsense and what is the real deal

for the H-20 part, one of the hilarious nonsenses are that can go supersonic lol

Another Q&A between the same Hong Kong Commercial Daily journalist and Deputy PLA Air Force commander Wang Wei about H-20.

J: Because it's been a long time and everyone is looking forward to when it will be announced
Wang Wei: Soon, you'll see. Because it is going to be based on the technical process
J: But everything should be ready by now, (right?)
Wang Wei: Ready? Definitely everything is ready. Because the development of airplanes is not a stopping process, it's a continuing process. It's always being upgraded, remodeled. Existing airplanes are also being upgraded.
J: H-20 been announced for a while. There's talk from foreign media that we've hit a technical bottleneck.
W:There's no bottleneck, it has all solved. We have very good researchers now, all of them are capable of this.
J: Won't this aircraft make our air force much stronger?
W: It surely does, doesn't it? One generation of equipment brings one generation of combat power.
J: What is the significance of this aircraft for the Air Force?
W: Something to be proud of and something to get excited about. It means a lot.
J: How long after his debut will it be before it goes into full service or mass production
W: Soon, straight after.
J: After the H-20, we compare our strength with that of the United States... (interrupted)
W: We don't compare ourselves to the U.S. We're just defending ourselves.
J: So can we achieve a technological leapfrog?
W: Let's all see then.

It's a small detail, but I'm glad he specifically rejected the comparison with the US. One of my biggest annoyances is when people insist on directly comparing capabilities that way. The US is trying to project power near China. China is trying to disrupt American power projection. There is some overlap in terms of platforms and munitions and so forth, but the operational use case is diametrically opposed.

The answers being characterized by a dignified and unassuming confidence/contentment is quite reasonable, but it also does unintentionally continue to keep expectations for H-20 high for those of us awaiting it

I think if it arrives without any of the expected trimmings, people will be rather dissatisfied.

Indeed, it almost looks that way, so I am the main culprit for all the delays?

I think we can neutralise the additional delays by openly acknowledging to the PLA watching deities that us lowly disciples have not the right nor audacity to ask for the timing of a new aircraft's emergence.

Amen and inshallah .
