More curious whether TVC is intended for this model iteration or another tbh.

I personally would not put WS-15 and TVC together to the first airframe either by locking the TVC in place or no TVC nozzle at all. Better to do it in quick but small steps. first to get the engine performance, reliability and intergration with the airframe, TVC can come in when everything else is done, just like how WS-10 gets TVC.
Supposedly they’ve been flying a testbed with a single TVC nozzle for over a year though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As far as I know there hasn't been any confirmation if the single WS-15 they've been flying on a J-20 (prior to J-20A 2052 flying with two WS-15s) had TVC or not.

Did you mean J-20? As a J-10 would only have a single engine nozzle.
Yes I meant J-20 (see post, amended); typing on phone.
We only have this picture (center one) of the J-20 s/n 2012, from last year, where the right engine is replaced with a serrated nozzle that we believed to be a TVC nozzle, but no indications it is WS-15.
We do know that prior to J-20 s/n 2052, that there has been a J-20 that's flown with a single WS-15 replacing one of its engines, but AFAIK we've never had a picture of it, and there's never been confirmation if that single WS-15 had TVC or not.
So that's why I'm asking about "Supposedly they’ve been flying a testbed with a single TVC nozzle for over a year though" -- to my knowledge all we know is there's been a flying testbed with a single WS-15, but its TVC nozzle status is unknown.
It's so satisfying after reading hundreds of articles of how China can't build jet engines, to finally see this Jewel come to fruition.
I love some idiots on YouTube recite the 400hr TBO for Chinese engines in 2023. China is light-years ahead in aviation development compared to their uninformed and outdated understanding.
Lol the next talking point after they concede that China can build engines is definitely going to be the engine lifespan.

I've been puzzling over why the canards of the J-20 have an angle compared to the main wings? Can't they make them flat so that won't be visible from the front whenever not used?
