    I thought I'd start a thread on the capabilities of the Chinese shipbuilding industry, start off with a piece of news on JN shipyard.

    I guess this is the stated goal of the Chinese shipbuilding industry, to have 25% of world market and be tied for first with South Korea and Japan.

    looks like there will be even more future expansions.

    more news, I read today that the Koreans have 43% of all orders so far this year and China has 24% and Japan has 14% (maybe less). Anyhow, looks like Koreans are really pulling away

    well, the South Koreans still are ruling the shipbuilding industry, but China is slowly catching up.

    a little bit on the expansion of the Chinese shipyards, in this case JN.
    this is basically introducing the new 300 tonne crane at JN and its testing. Looks like JN is ready for more heavy lifting

    well, some more news on the shipbuilding industry, as said, China had almost 20% of the market last year in terms of dwt, they also got 24% of new orders.

    about Jiangnan's proposed move to the new location in Changxing.
    basically, the new location is 6 km squar, it has 3 production line. Line 1 and 2 for civlian ships and 3rd for military product.

    talking about line 3 (the military production line) officially starting work, I wonder what it's working on.
