Gathering storm, those young people in Hongkong have "death wish" unfortunately they are going to get it.One thing to express their view but when they start to interfere with normal function of a city like blocking subway and airport, throwing molotov bomb, defacing symbol of the state. They are going to far . Weak government and facilitating Hongkong government encourages the extremist. Concession will only create for more demand and soon they can't control it Then unfortunately China will have to take over with iron fist

I don't think China will tolerate chaos and they will pay whatever price I see that in TAM they been warned to clear the square for a months but they didn't listen
Deja vu all over again It is a tragedy waiting to happened all over again if they didn't stop this .
madness. I don't see anything wrong with extradition law every country has it to prevent Hongkong to become save heaven for criminal, Freedom and democracy was never threatened. But that is beside the point heir goal is Hongkong independent and that is secessionist movement and treason. It is irony that year after year they hold vigil for TAM but this time they will suffer the same fate as TAM

Nothing unfortunate at all about the military answering their death wish. What would be unfortunate is if the military scattered them, allowing them to continue to be a more silent cancer on Chinese society for the rest of their lives and then raising their children to continue the blight.

    now
Court issues injunction order to remove protesters from airport after clashes with police
    • Protesters had accused man in terminal building of being an undercover security officer from mainland China
    • Small contingent of fully equipped riot police and elite officers from the Special Tactical Squad fought off protesters, using pepper spray and batons

I have followed events in HK with keen interest as it is my birth place, and I still have close family members there.

First of all, I would like to apologise if I get a bit emotional or/and political. (I'm mindful that the mods here seem to hand out sentances quite freely)!

    Anyway, here goes.

The westrn MSM is unbelievable. Even after over 8 weeks into this, they are still trying to use the narratives of "peaceful protest" and they are only protesting for "freedom and democracy "!

In fact, nothing could be further from this. They protestors are nit peaceful. I have seen footages of the mob beating up innocent by standers. Mobs going prepare with helmets, gas mask and weapons.

They are protesting for independence, and freely waving US and UK flags in the streets, they also desecrate the national flag twice (a criminal offence in most countries)

Now after saying all that, I still think its no time to send in the troops. And here's why.

This is because it was their (protestors and the people behind them) goal all thr time. They have nothing to loose, and everything to win.

That is they either get their goal of independence, or they get China's name drag into mud if and when China send in the troops. Either way, they win, and China loose. A really smart move by those behind all these.

Least biased local Hong Kong news:
    http://news.tvb.com/list/local/

Besides from protesters beating up and tying up a man they accuse of being an undercover cop, protesters also tied up a journalist from a mainland newspaper, not to mention verbally and physically harassing numerous travelers and blocking them from getting to their flights. This is in addition to the previous rounds of protesters destroying public property and attacking police. These violent protesters definitely fit the definition of rioters and should be treated as such. The poor leadership and poor PR of the Hong Kong government and police are very disappointing in allowing most of these rioters to get away with and escalate their destructive behavior, even more disappointing than the biased anti-China spin of these riots in Western media.

Not really. They have their lives to lose. It's impossible they become independent but China can take full control of HK 28 years faster and get rid of a ton of possible future terrorists in one sweep resulting in a much more loyal HK population. That's certainly a victory for China and something worth considering.
