I would bet most of the weapons were pistols any way. given the distance fact they were being fired on from an elevated position, I doubt they could have done much anyway.
The shooter had the advantages. Performers of concert goers were in an open area packed with people and no hard cover. even if they had tried to return fire chances of actually being able to stop the shooter are nill.
Even if it was a military squad dropped in there They would have been pinned down.

yep
with his like armory in the hotel room, I could imagine 200 (two-hundred) rounds per minute was achievable, which would mean he was shooting for about six minutes this way (I read somewhere he'd fired more than one-thousand rounds)

disclaimer: I don't know what's happened

"Police say they received the first call that shots had been fired at 10:08 p.m. Sunday night.

The suspect, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, "fired off and on for somewhere between 9 and 11 minutes" in a dozen or so volleys, said Las Vegas Metro Police Undersheriff Kevin McMahill at a press conference Tuesday evening.

The shots ended at 10:19 p.m."

Bumpfire stock is made for one and one thing only! and that is shooting fish in a barrel like this guy did.
There are no other applications for it! none, zero, ziltch!

It is highly inaccurate and unreliable to be used for anything else.

It's one of those inventions that frankly should never have been invented. I hope the company gets sued to bankruptcy.

It's a poor man's machine gun and it is tactically and functionally useless either for war fighting or protection purposes UNLESS you use it to shoot a large group of very close together targets in a small confined space like this perp did.

Still I expect the share price is rising.

In NZ they might be useful for rabbit shooting. In regions such as parts of Southland , Otago, Marlborough, Canterbury, rabbits have become immune to human-introduced virus and poisons. Given that each female rabbit produces 40 odd offspring a season, shooting with shotguns barely tickles the population. In some places they are packed like fish in a barrel.
In Easter we have the great easter rabbit shoot, I would like nothing more than be able to rock up to one of these shoots with a belt feed machine mounted on the back of a Toyota pick up.
