The media has contradicted itself many times already with this incident. I wouldn't go by anything they've reported. Even the "witnesses" I find suspect as in being attention seekers. One guy said his friend was shot three times in the chest. At that distance at that angle with fully automatic fire, that sounds odd he got shot three times in the same area of the body.
The first gunshots were mistaken for fireworks and he was firing from an elevated position So I can see in the first few seconds it happening. Distance from the Hotel room flatter trajectory and MOA of the weapon probably would have allowed a group that could have allowed multiple hits across a human torso.

You know, something about this does not seem right.
They authorities have been unable to find a motive. While the suspect had bought some guns legally, they were nothing like the weapons used. The Japanese lady was only reported as a person of interest, as her details seem to have been used to book the room.
Most critically, the suspect was found dead when the Police entered the Hotel room, so nobody actually saw him firing a weapon. Police entered some 15 - 30 minutes after the shooting started, which itself only lasted for a few minutes (or so I understand).
A very large amount of ammunition seems to have been expended very quickly and from two position in the room in that time.
I do question whether the ability to define time of death is fine enough to identify a time of less than 30 minutes?

I obviously am in no position to say anything definitively, but were I in authority in the states, I would be concerned that given the strange anomalies and loose ends in this matter, that there may be a real terrorist still out there, who has very cleverly so far covered his tracks!
I heard a report that Hotel security had responded first, but they were shot at, had to pull back and let police SWAT come in.
With the suspect already having taken his life.
Weapons can be modified and baught. and first 3 reports are always wrong.

the point is the LV shooter had to have some incredible technology
The LV shooter didn't care about barrel life or training. once he opened fire he was not going to get an escape. there was only one way this was going to end. His death.
So he was going to keep shooting even if the weapon failed.
Given the description of events the weaponry he had he wanted to barricade himself in and take as many lives as he could. The only endgame would have been death at his own hand or by cop.

Not sure if this news is accurate or not but supposedly this was one the many weapons found in the LV shooter's room.

Looks like a 100 round clip.

One can see the hammer on top was perhaps used to break the window from inside the hotel room?

yep
with his like armory in the hotel room, I could imagine 200 (two-hundred) rounds per minute was achievable, which would mean he was shooting for about six minutes this way (I read somewhere he'd fired more than one-thousand rounds)

disclaimer: I don't know what's happened

On the bottom pics the magazines looks wider? Was it possible that he was using two kinds of rounds (5.56 and something else)?

USNS Comfort Arrives in Puerto Rico to Provide Medical Assistance After Hurricane Maria

Hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH-20) arrived in Puerto Rico Tuesday morning, providing much-needed medical capabilities as most of the island’s medical facilities still have no power two weeks after Hurricane Maria made landfall.

As of Tuesday morning, when Comfort pulled into Puerto Rico, only 10 of the island’s 69 hospitals were fully reconnected to the electrical grid, Puerto Rico governor Ricardo Rossello said Tuesday morning during a press conference. The rest of the island’s medical facilities, including nearly all of Puerto Rico’s 48 kidney dialysis centers, continue to rely on diesel-fueled generators.

Hurricane Maria completely destroyed Puerto Rico’s power grid, and Rossello said only 5 percent of the power company’s customers had been reconnected as of Tuesday morning. Within the month, the goal is to have a quarter of Puerto Rico’s customers reconnected to the electrical grid. Restoring power to hospitals will be a priority as workers rebuild the power grid, he added.

Comfort has 250 beds and arrived with about 750 Navy medical staff onboard, according to a Navy statement. Pediatricians, surgeons, nurse practitioners, surgical technicians, and various support personnel will provide care that is otherwise hard to come by as the island starts to rebuild.

Comfort’s staff joins the relief efforts of sailors and Marines from the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group and 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, which have spent the last month in the region airlifting food, water, and other supplies to islands affected by hurricanes Irma and Maria. Marines have been preparing for Comfort‘s arrival by transporting hospital assessment teams on the ground and through the air to inspect Puerto Rico’s hospitals.

The ARG includes amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) and dock landing ship USS Oak Hill (LSD-51). Later this week, USS Wasp (LHD-1) is expected to join the Kearsarge ARG, bringing additional helicopters to assist with the disaster relief effort. Wasp has three MH-60 and two MH-53 helicopters, but

, according to a Navy spokesperson.

Nearly 400 miles of roadway have been cleared so far, but Rossello said 19 routes considered critical for food, water, supplies distribution and access to health care still need to be cleared. Marines have delivered more than 14,500 pounds of relief supplies, according to U.S. Northern Command, while also working to clear roads of debris.

CCTV, in the corridors may provide an answer as to how many people entered and exited the room prior and after the shooting.

Its interesting the perspective of some of these performers involved in this country music festival in Las Vegas. One group's experience is already being reported in the news where apparently most of them and their crew had weapons, not carrying them but in their possessions, but they immediately realized after the shooting started they didn't want to pull them out for concern they would be mistaken for the shooters. Another different performer ended up in a bar nearby owned by another performer and around 70 people where hunkered down in this bar told stay in place because the word was then more than one shooter were on the streets shooting down people. This performer was the only one that had a gun and had only seven bullets to protect 70 people. The first group are now having second thoughts on gun control because they found out everyone having a gun did nothing for them and might make matters worse where everyone is shooting each other on the street mistaking anyone else with a gun as the shooter. The other wants everyone to have guns thinking it would've prevented situations like this. In this case if everyone had a gun it would've not changed the situation except maybe more accidental casualties from people shooting each other mistakenly believing the other is the shooter.
