These images were posted by Hongjian yesterday and they are showing some sort of new gun (some say of 25mm caliber) or IMO at least a new modification to the gun blast deflector ...

Also interesting, that this is prototype 006 and this one already had the revised fuselage of the serial aircrafts.

Possibly a new engine, too, allowing it to operate on the Tibetan Plateau.

Interesting video ...

I never understand this. This is 2015! Why are the PLA pilots still wear those throw-back of 50s flightsuits? They look more like they are going to a communist dance party circa 1950 with their flashy leather jackets! :D When are they going to come to the 21st century with proper flightsuit?

BTW, spotted this in Google image:

The bottom image supposedly is the Thales TopOwl Helmet Sight system.
I gotta say, maybe they got "inspired" by the TopOwl system, both looks surprisingly similar.
I found it surprising that they didn't go with the American IHADSS system which is what they used on Apache.

No ... why on earth do all think that with each and every new image a new engine must be installed ?

I can only ask my question and rise my point again I posted so often already: How should an engine be in China in serial production, if the engine it is originally based on - namely the Ardiden 3C is not ready in Europe yet ????

I'm surely eager to learn, but so far I only heard rumours - and to admit most of them simply fan-boy's chatter - that the WZ-16 is ready .... but so far no official link or any other reliable source.

To remind in regard to the Adiden 3C itself: The 3C-version as the latest member of the Ardiden-family is not even listed on the Turbomeca-HP, a first ground run – NOTE: not even a test on an actual helicopter – was only done in November 2013 and some still really believe reports that serial production started then already in China in 2014 ??? Simply NEVER.

An uprated WZ-9 maybe ... but surely not a new engine.

Hard to tell. This could be a overhaul then again it could be just a few tweaks. One thing for sure is what ever they did they deemed a Change to the Muzzle break a must. and the Turret housing has stream lined well the gun is open to the air.

as to Mil35 the question I have would be which version? presumably with the latest Russian Avionics Fine but a Mil35M series based on the Hind D with the 12.7mm Gatling gun or the Mil35P packing the fixed 30mm cannon.
If the M series then It would be well suited for Asymmetric conflicts with lots of fire power against insurgents and militants if the P then it's a tank hunter and better to leave the grunts to the Huey's, Hips and Pumas.
But that's neither here nor there.

Mi-25 export version of Mi-24D
Mi-35 export version of Mi-24V
Mi-35P export version of Mi-24P
Mi-35M export version of Mi-24VM
Mi-35M2 export version of Mi-24VM2/3

Somewhere mentioned to be Mi-35M, there are no D model in production nor in russian storage since a long time, D model used Phalanga wire guided missile, not in production anymore and i don't think in storage. So there are no D models.

There is no purpose of making an IHADSS System, since it is old, heavy, bad image headache ratio over time and would be also less accurate for head tracking. Thales is not only one of the biggest developers but also among the best for a fair price and they provide for lot of countries cooperation for Thermal Imagers aswell such HMDS like TopOwl so they have very good basis to develope own HMDS, not implying they did i don't know about that.

When the Z-10 gets WZ-16 engines every uneducated eye will tell. The engine compartment will probably change to the former configuration for optimal IR reduction in upwards or at least V shaped upwards exhaust panels or for integrated IR suppressors to avoid direct LOS to hot exhaust and engine parts.

The leather flight jacks look nice, but body armor might be better for close combat operations- at lease psychologically anyway.

militairez100650201211_zps8c9f309c.jpg There is a winter wear and there is summer wear. Leather jacket for cold weather and no leather jackets in summer. Afghanistan could be hot and with lots of hostile small arms fire, body armour, survival kits, knife and handgun and personal communication gear make sense.
