Army Readies Long-Range Missile Tests — Post INF
Pentagon brass universally support the US developing a new generation of conventional intermediate long-range missiles, and the Army is rushing to meet the challenge as the INF Treaty approaches its likely Aug. 2 demise.

OK here's what matters ... for now:

"... Congress and the White House agreed on a massive two-year spending bill that finally kills the sequester spending caps, while giving the military something it has long begged for: budget certainty.

But that certainty comes at some cost.

The deal, which funds the Pentagon at $738 billion in fiscal 2020, falls short of the $750 billion the White House and Republicans have maintained the Pentagon needs to keep its modernization push moving forward, and slightly above the $733 billion House Democrats passed earlier this month in their version of the defense spending package."

Not really it was just a little behind the times.
I detailed how and when the long barrels became the norm. When Crusader was cancelled along with it went the Abrams engine replacement and it ended up being a case of penny wise pound foolish Budget fighting.

Newly installed SecDef: The budget deal provides a ‘good’ number for defense https://www.defensenews.com/pentago...dget-deal-provides-a-good-number-for-defense/

also inside an incredible number of appointees still missing in the Pentagon, but who cares in this forum LOL or in the Pentagon itself?
