Why do you think so? The H145/AC352 is still one of the most modern helicopters.

Why wouldn't it be alive? There's the whole Chinese commercial market for it. Possibly hundreds of airframes to be sold. But I do doubt we will see any military variant within the PLA.

I am not so sure about it If that the case they can use pratt and whitney engine instead of spending time and effort to built WZ 16 engine All the type 54 and type 56 wont be able to accommodate the larger Z20
Anyway we will know as this heli is not slated to be certified until end of this year or early next year

Made in China 2025 remember that? Or the last year’s export tariffs and other potential Why deal with the US and export restrictions when you can do your own engines and sell to anyone you like?
the Z20 is a good chopper for a number of missions to be sure but like the Blackhawk overkill for the “civil” side of the PRC government. Besides an engine is an engine and if they control the IP no harm no foul if they drop it in a Z10 upgrade or something.

How could the PLA already use it, when no serial Z-15 is actually ready or delivered?
I don't know just CSIS said one of the images in their article showed Z15.

I'd be interested to know if PLA will be buying Z15 though. Would make a good replacement for Z9C/D on those FFG/DDG that cannot take Z20F.
