Your works and books

Hey Jeff.
Yeah, the initial observatios were made before the new pics came out. The new pics really cleared things up. She looks good. Just the usual issues. I'm still trying to figure out her engine scheme. Are they new?

BTW-I've been a pooner since... longer than I care to admit! ;) If you're ever on FB look up the Old Pooner Group.

First of all, it's a dignified esteem to be part of this forum and to know most of you guys. During these 2-3 years, I am honored to learn from everyone's contributions, and to enjoy the prestige this forum offered( thanks to mods and regular members) , the environment of intellectualism and learning.

Anyways, I like to collect certain books, such as textbooks of my academic major, minor, and anything worthy of reading(thus I don't sell them). These in the bookself define me and my personality. With that said, I am actually indeed, interested in getting your book, Jeff. If I recall correctly, other forum members such as Deino, Martian, Seige, Planeman, and tphuang are authors too. If you guys are, and who else in this forum are as well, please feel free to introduce/market me your works! I'm interested in collecting them.

Hmm ... Thanks a lot, but I won't take myself as an author (not yet) ... but You are correct that I started writing a few years ago for the German aviation magazine "FliegerRevue" and "FliegerRevue-eXtra" on Chinese topics. Additionally there are thre longer reports on the J-10, JH-7 and Z-10 published in the - sadly not very healthy - "International Air Power Review" and finally since about a year I'm contributing to the "Combat Aircraft Monthly".

If You are interested here's a bit (IAPR) ...

Chengdu J-10 (Focus Aircraft) – Volume 22 (Fall 2007)

Changhe Z-10 helicopter gunship (Debrief) – Volume 23 / Winter 2007

Xian JH-7 ‘Flounder’ – China’s Flying Leopard (Focus Aircraft) – Volume 25 / Winter 2007

I already did, published right after it's first flight and as such surely including some mistakes & errors:

See page 34-41 !

Regarding this project and besides that I don’t want to tell too much: In mind of the vast information to this topic and the limited space in a single volume we concentrate on the currently used combat and combat-support aircraft, their weapons, the units as well as the current Orbat ! As such it will be only a "handbook" of the current PLAAF & PLANAF.

Here's the proposed content so far:

Chapter 1: Short History of the PLAAF and the PLANAF
Chapter 2: Combat and Combat-Support Aircraft
Chapter 3: Weapons of Chinese Combat Aircraft
Chapter 4: Aircraft Markings (the serial system …)
Chapter 5: PLAAF Order of Battle, 2012
Chapter 6: PLANAF Order of Battle, 2012

... for the "history" of Chinese military aircraft ... You need to wait a bit longer.
